What You'll Do

We are looking for a talented, passionate and experienced Behavioral Science UX Researcher to join our team. In this role, you will help define, test and bring to life a range of solutions related to Verily's Consumer products, including Verily Me and Lighpath.
As a Behavioral Researcher at Verily, you will collaborate with other researchers, designers, product managers and software engineers to solve some of the biggest challenges in healthcare. You will lead end-to-end research studies and behavioral experiments, ensuring proper implementation and translating complex findings directly into actionable product features and AI-driven interventions. Your work will be crucial in applying and testing principles from behavioral science to our products, helping to develop our own proprietary frameworks and driving personalized health behavior change at scale.
Responsibilities
* Plan and execute user research studies, translating core behavioral science principles and hypotheses directly into rigorous experimental designs.
* Apply a diverse range of research methods, including usability tests, qualitative interviews, and literature reviews, to drive product decisions and answer critical design questions.
* Analyze complex qualitative and quantitative data, synthesizing key findings into impactful, actionable recommendations for stakeholders and product leadership.
* Support the development and delivery of behavioral science training programs and workshops to empower cross-functional partners (XFP) in implementing evidence-based product initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* BA/BS in Social/ Behavioral Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, etc), Human-Computer Interaction, or related field or, in lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience.
* Minimum 4 years of experience in an applied research role, with a track record of designing experimental, observational and quantitative research, and leveraging results to drive actionable impact for product development.
* Demonstrated experience with behavioral science research, and comfort with developing and applying evaluation methods such as A/B tests and Randomized Control Trials (RCTs) frameworks to assess performance; domain knowledge with AI model development is preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments (eg, shift priorities with changing scope, effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously).
Preferred Qualifications
(Having many of these specific qualifications is a plus, but transferable skills/experiences may be equally valuable)
* M.A/M.S./Ph.D. in Social Sciences, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design or related field.
* Experience using research tools like Dscout, Qualtrics, and HeyMarvin.
* Experience implementing Behavioral Science frameworks such as COM-B, EAST, Fogg, etc

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000 - $190,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The expected compensation for this position based on the primary location of Remote is $40 - $55/hour.
