The successful candidate will join a team of faculty dedicated to providing exceptional pulmonary and critical care services, advancing clinical education, and contributing to scholarly and quality improvement initiatives. **Essential Responsibilities** + Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pulmonary and critical care, including management of chronic lung diseases, acute respiratory failure, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and ICU patients. + Provide **inpatient ICU and pulmonary consult services** , including co-management of critically ill patients, ventilator management, and collaboration with ICU consultants. + Participate in procedures such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and other pulmonary interventions, as appropriate to training and experience. + Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and procedural pulmonary and critical care settings. + Participate in departmental and divisional quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives. + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams-including respiratory therapy, nursing, radiology, and surgery-for optimal patient outcomes. + Contribute to curriculum development, clinical skills training, and pulmonary/critical care-focused academic programs. **Minimum Qualifications** + MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. + Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. + Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment. + Demonstrated involvement in scholarly activity, clinical research, quality improvement projects, or curriculum development in pulmonary or critical care medicine. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach. **SALARY:** Commensurate with experience. **Join Our Team** We invite clinician-educators, clinician-scientists, and physician leaders who share our commitment to excellence, innovation, and collaboration to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine as we continue Moving Medicine Forward. **EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:** UTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
