Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking Summer 2026 Software Engineer Interns to support our Internal Research & Development (IRAD) program which will be conducted in our Herndon, VA, West Lafayette, IN or Blacksburg, VA offices.
Join our Technology and Engineering Software Delivery Center and support exciting, advanced research projects in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, health, and mobile. You'll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment with our full-time staff, allowing you to grow your skills and your career while building experience in a variety of different projects and domains. You'll work in an Agile software development environment supporting requirements/story development, software architecture and design, software development, and unit/component testing. You'll also get the chance to obtain certifications in leading technologies to enhance your skills, such as Amazon Web Services.
We ask that each intern be available to work the duration of the ten weeks (June to August) and commit to working a minimum of 35-40 hours per week. This program is geared toward technical college students, actively enrolled at a four-year university, who will be rising into their junior or senior years. However, strong underclassmen may be considered if they have declared their major and have completed qualified coursework.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
HS Diploma and some advanced level training.

Have completed progress toward a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
Foundational experience in an object-oriented programming language, preferably in Java, and exposure to software engineering processes.
Hands on programming experience through coursework and/or prior internships.

Target Salary Range $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a motivated and energetic Systems Integrator/Training Coordinator to join our team of technical and business experts providing operational and mission support to a SI/SETA mission for a classified customer in Virginia.
Our unique team of technical and business disciplines provide operational support for SystemsEngineering/Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations to multiple functional mission areas. The team is responsible for technical design, operations, and mission planning and business operations for the full life cycle of customer specific operations (from concept through development and installation/O&M).
The SI in this role will serve as a Training Coordinator for Customer-specific specialized training in technical collection, targeting, and analysis.
The Systems Integrator/Training Coordinator is responsible for but not limited to:
Consolidate specialized training requirements for customer employees from across all customer branches and programs covering technical collection, targeting and analysis.
Collaborate with customer organization and partners to identify internal and external training resources that meet customer-specific requirements.
Work with training providers to schedule specialized training opportunities that are compatible with customer requirements and advertise those opportunities within the Guardian customer spaces.
Work with organizations who provide training to identify any contract actions or funding resources required. Communicate those requirements to the customer Front Office in a timely manner.
Create and manage a consolidated calendar of training opportunities that the customer can use to plan availability and attendance.
Register students and manage course rosters for classes the Guardian customer organizes. Pass permission/accesses to partners as required.
Work with other contract and customer staff to ensure customer officers receive training credit for all courses taken.
As needed for certain courses, coordinate the classroom, lab, conference room, or specialized sites for training activities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
An active TS/SCI with relevant Polygraph
Bachelor's degree in technical disciplines and 12 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree and 10 years of relevant experience, or a PhD and 7+ years of relevant experience
Experience supporting scheduling and specialized training courses within a USG (military or civilian) setting
Strong program management and organizational skills
Strong collaboration and communications skills and experience coordinating efforts that span multiple customer entities
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, Power-Point, and MS Project
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team in pursuit of organizational goals.
Demonstrated expertise in writing, and ability to brief complex technical information to non-experts
Experience with preparation and maintenance of project documentation, cost and master schedules.
Experience working in customer environment
Has a self-started, motivated, energetic, can-do attitude

Bachelor's degree and 15 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree and 13 years of relevant experience, or a PhD and 10+ years of relevant experience
Experience with the customer's online student training registration tool
