The Department of Innovative Research at ARCH Collaborative is seeking a dedicated and inquisitive intern to join a special qualitative research project titled: Psychobiographical Analysis of Life Stories of Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) Survivors.
Project Overview:
Psychobiography is a qualitative research method that applies psychological theories to better understand an individual's life journey and personal development. This unique project explores how survivors of CSEC construct meaning in their lives and move toward healing, growth, and agency.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct literature reviews and contribute to theoretical framing of the study.
Assist in conducting narrative interviews with clients (under supervision).
Support the transcription, psychobiographical analysis, and writing of case narratives.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and case managers.
Eligibility Criteria:
Must be enrolled in or a recent graduate of a program in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Social Sciences, or a related field. Masters students in these fields are welcome to apply.
Strong writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Must be willing to participate in an intensive orientation and training on psycho-biographical research methods.
Demonstrated interest in trauma-informed research or working with vulnerable populations.
Previous experience with qualitative research is not required.

Job Description
This Internship is fully funded through a grant provided by the state of California Economic Development Department's Opportunity Young Adult Career Pathway Program. The Internship is a paid, part time, temporary position that will average 12 hours a week over a 10-week period. At no time will the role exceed 30 hours per week.
The Production Studio Management intern will work under the supervision of National CORE's Production Studio Manager and the Assistant Vice President of Marketing & Communications. This internship provides a unique opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing careers in production studio management. It's an ideal starting point for those looking to understand the critical role of production.
The intern will learn all elements of production studio sound, lighting and camera management, with a focus on podcasting, as outlined in the goals and deliverables of the underlying grant agreement. Students may apply to take the internship twice if they come in as new learners so that they can master more advanced techniques. Students will learn in National CORE's state-of-the-art studio.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES AND CURRICULUM

Working alongside members of the North Valley Rural Tobacco Project Team, the Health Promotions Intern will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, through research, education, and advocacy.
The intern will assist the North Valley Tobacco Project in executing health promotion and tobacco prevention activities to gain experience in the field of outreach, education, evaluation, health policy, and community organizing in the context of tobacco prevention. The intern will support Smokefree Multi-Unit Housing and Smokefree Outdoor Air campaign efforts in Gridley (Butte County), and Marysville (Yuba County). About PLN Founded on Skid Row in 1980, Para Los NiƱos (PLN) partners with more than 10,000 children, youth, and families each year through integrated education, wellness supports and advocacy, addressing individual and systemic barriers to create pathways to success. In addition to operating early education centers, charter elementary and middle schools, youth workforce development sites and family services, PLN is the only children's mental health provider in the Skid Row neighborhood. PLN's community transformation work brings together community members, community-based organizations, city and county agencies, elected officials, and businesses to tackle issues that impact PLN families. Ninety-three percent of families served by PLN live in areas with the highest levels of food insecurity and homelessness in L.A. County.
Position Overview
This training track is for students seeking a Field Placement that leads to eligibility for the Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) in school social work. This track entails placement at one of our three Charter schools. We currently have a middle school (6th-8th grades), elementary (TK-grade 5) and a primary center (Tk-1st grade). Training within this track includes supporting with individual and small group counseling, attendance (includes tracking, meeting with parents, conducting home visits, supporting school staff with incentive programs); classroom interventions; presentations (i.e. topics such as bullying, conflict resolution, etc..); parent workshops; case management and crisis intervention. Students will have the opportunity to co-facilitate groups on topics such as social skills, bullying, etc.
Available Internship Days and Times:
This internship is a 20 hours a week commitment. Internship days are flexible, however attendance at the site must be during school hours (i.e. 7:30am-3:30pm). If you would like to qualify for the PPSC, you will need to serve at one site for 16 hours and the remaining four at another site. Wednesdays are a mandatory training day as this is the day of the week in which staff meetings, trainings and group supervision take place on a weekly basis (9am-3pm).
The primary start date for training is the first Wednesday after Labor Day. There will be a 2 day orientation that will take place in late August (date to be determined) in order to help the students with onboarding activities. This orientation is necessary in order to ensure students have completed activities that will support their beginning their clinical training. It should also be noted that for the first two weeks of training in September most trainings are scheduled to take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Attendance to these training days is required unless prior arrangements have been discussed with the respective training supervisor.
Special Requirements: (ie: livescan , TB clearance, training days prior experience)
We require that all students pass a livescan, drug screening and TB test. Agency wide trainings are also required (topics on trauma informed treatment, child abuse reporting, CPR / First Aide, etc..)
Supervision and Training Plan
Supervision: Students receive 1 hour of individual and 2 hours of group supervision weekly. Individual supervision is done in person while group supervision is conducted via telehealth format. Group supervision consists of no more than 8 students. Students present cases each week in a structured presentation format to facilitate this area of their professional development.
Meetings with Preceptors: Students are assigned a preceptor at the beginning of the training year who provides additional needed supports for the student to acclimate to their placement and be available in the event they have questions or crises arise.
Trainings: Students participate in bi-monthly trainings. Trainings take place on Wednesdays from 10am-12pm. Various topics that have been presented previously include crisis intervention, compassion fatigue, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, attachment, brain development, toxic stress, art therapy and sensory processing disorders.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. English proficiency supporting professional-level verbal and written communication to children, parents and other staff members required.
Education and Certification Requirements
BA / BS Degree.
Concurrent enrollment in a graduate degree program.
Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug test and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Current certification in CPR/First Aid.

The MSW Internship will offer participants the opportunity to to work in a professional setting to develop and demonstrate skills in social work, to integrate the theories and practices learned in and out of the classroom, to develop an understanding of the diversity of a community population and the role of diversity in social work practice. This role will aid in supporting frontline staff in day to day operations, and will also receive a caseload of members working towards a variety of goals. This position is an integral part of case management services at SPY.
The first half of the internship will focus on developing skills in case management, documentation, assessments, and working in a high pace Access Center. The 2nd half of the internship will continue in this trajectory, but will also focus on further developing clinical skills, providing interns with an opportunity to conduct 1:1 therapy services to a small caseload, help plan and facilitate therapy groups, and participate in various training sessions. Throughout the program, interns will receive one-on-one support from Field Instructor, and on-going support from Clinical Supervisor, Health and Wellness Therapists, as well as group-based professional development classes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Participate in SPY's orientation and in-service training programs for professional staff and volunteers as needed
Attend Clinical Department team meetings and group supervision
Run Front Desk operations on a rotation basis ensuring members are connected with needed programs and services
Under Supervision of Field Instructor, conduct intakes, assess needs, and refer new youth to pertinent services/programs such as housing, mental health, benefits, education, and employment as needed
Assist in following up for referrals for services and collecting required paperwork (including follow up calls)
Help plan and co-facilitate-related workshops/trainings for youth and community members.
Under Supervision of Field Instructor, establish treatment goals and revise counseling interventions as indicated. Evaluate member/family response to psychosocial interventions; identify obstacles and assist in understanding goals of intervention, documenting all services in Civicore and HMIS
Co-facilitate group therapy sessions with the Health & Wellness Therapist
Participate in one hour (minimum supervision)
