About The Role
A Head of School at Vivvi is a dedicated and dynamic leader responsible for the overall management and success of the campus. If it happens on their campus, they're ultimately responsible for it! With no task too large or too small, their role encompasses everything needed to ensure smooth operations and delivery of high-quality child care and education. A Head of School must exhibit leadership and vision while maintaining oversight of curriculum, staffing operations and team culture, and family engagement, all in alignment with Vivvi's core values. As the Head of School, you will:
Be responsible for the business success of your campus
Lead school operations by developing and overseeing critical systems and processes related to staffing/scheduling, tracking enrollment, etc.
Own budget and reporting, and work closely with Vivvi corporate team to monitor, report on, and support the financial health of the school
Track and submit DOE budget invoices in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and maintaining financial integrity.
Ensure excellence in program, making sure the level of care, learning, and health & safety are second-to-none
Oversee compliance systems and adhere to applicable health, safety, and licensing requirements per local regulations including DOE 3K and UPK requirements
Ensure the ongoing delivery of a developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children
Create a positive experience for all members of the community
Support in all aspects of relationship-building and enrollment with prospective families with a commitment to promoting the highest quality experience and satisfaction.
Foster and promote Vivvi's inclusive environment throughout all aspects of the culture and practices of the campus
Hire, manage, and mentor faculty including driving accountability and adherence to all Vivvi standards and policies, regular performance evaluations, and training and professional development opportunities with an eye toward HR best practices

Responsibilities:
* Teach up to five classes and/or the equivalent responsibilities where needed.
* Serve as an advisor to small group of students.
* Develop and implement NY State and Common Core Standards-aligned units and lessons.
* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students (especially those with ELL and IEP designations)
* Prepare students for all required assessments (Regents, NWEA, PSAT, SAT, AP, etc.) where applicable.
* Ensure students achieve goals set forth in the SUNY Accountability Plan.
* Record proper attendance for every class assigned in real-time.
* Update gradebook weekly at minimum.
* Attend all scheduled prep time with co-teachers/team members and all scheduled meetings (grade team, subject area department, etc.).
* Actively collaborate with colleagues to support student success.
* Participate in all required School professional development.
* Actively pursue professional development and professional certification if necessary.
* Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers.
* Maintain a welcoming and safe classroom environment.
* Engage in effective and appropriate classroom management.
* Maintain clean and clutter free room spaces for all students' and teachers' use.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant school content area required, Master's degree in Education, Teaching, or relevant content area preferred
* NYS Teaching Certification preferred
* Demonstrated expertise in subject area as shown by significant undergraduate or graduate coursework in content area or teaching certification.
* Dual-certification and/or experience with Special Education highly preferred.
* Demonstrated ability in, or potential and willingness to learn, effective lesson planning, instruction, classroom management, and effective assessment strategies.
* Familiarity with trauma informed practice a plus.
* Effective work ethic as a team member.
* Personable, outgoing and an appropriate sense of humor for a high school environment is always welcome.
Full-time teaching positions are paid over 12 months (with summers off). Complete benefit package offered to all full-time faculty.
Salary is based on experience and credentials/certifications.
