Required Education, Experience, & Skills Candidates must be an upcoming graduate or recent graduate from Tulsa Welding School Jacksonville The selected candidate must be able to exercise and exhibit the following competencies: * Fabricating and fitting metal components and structures to precise specifications. * Fabricate, assemble, and install materials such as beams, channels, angles and plates. * Working with a wide range of materials, including steel, stainless and aluminum. * Being skilled in metalworking techniques such as welding, cutting, grinding, and shaping of materials. * Must be able to read and derive measurements, dimensions and quantity of material needed to fabricate structure. * Reading blueprints, section and plan drawings, and weld symbols. * Use of industry tools and equipment, and install, use, and remove stop plates, dogs, strong backs and pad eyes. * Use in shop equipment such as iron worker, break press and plate roller. * Must be able to work within a team-based environment to accomplish all aspects of fabrication. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * Fabricate components based on NAVSEA drawing requirements with minimum direction given. * Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently. * Ability to pass a hands-on welding practical test on SMAW, FCAW and GMAW-P fillet weld by way of a VT NDT * Ability to pass an oxy-fuel torch test consistent of set up, cutting, and beveling. * Ablility to understand, read and interpret basic welding symbols based on the requirements of Military Standard 22-D. * Have working knowledge of Military Standard 1688 and Military Standard 1689. * Ability to interpret and understand NAVSEA drawings/blueprints. * Good communication and good interpersonal skills. * Possess basic reading, writing and mathematical skills. * Previous experience in use of overhead cranes. * Previous experience in shop equipment such as iron worker, break press and plate roller. * Ability to work weekends and a variety of shifts as needed. This is a key role in our Baldwin, FL facility as a resource in producing the equipment as supplied with engineered systems. This position is responsible for modular building assembly, skidded control system fabrication, and general mechanical tasks. Major Responsibilities: Mechanical fabrication of modular control buildings from custom steel bases to wall/roof assembly, and full fit-out with doors, HVACs, etc. Proper layout of mechanical equipment within the modular building Assemble mechanical equipment per WM standards and engineered drawings Assembling, installing, and mounting electrical and mechanical equipment and components neatly and professionally within modular control buildings Ability to visually locate components and determine proper clearances, etc. Properly label and document component identification and location Assist with preparing assembled equipment for system testing procedures Maintain a clean and organized production area on a daily basis Reviews BOM (bill of materials) to assess equipment receipt and readiness for project assembly Proper use of industrial tools, such as welders, grinders, band saws, shear, punches, benders, overhead cranes, and forklifts Complies with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner Works with the Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager to fully understand system assembly requirements and shipment schedules and/or project timelines Minimum Requirements: Education - High School Diploma (Associate degree in Industrial/Mechanical field and/or related Military experience preferred).
