The Adult Detention Center (ADC) is seeking an energetic, positive, and reliable Warehouse Specialist to join our team. This position will support warehouse and inmate commissary operations, including assisting in receiving, storing, and distributing products. About This Role:
Under the leadership of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Specialist will:
* Assists in receiving, inspecting, organizing, and storing incoming supplies and warehouse inventory.
* Accurately pulls and packages inmate housing unit supply orders for distribution to various departments within the facility.
* Leads and directs inmate workers assigned to warehouse duties, ensuring they complete the work assigned within the timelines established.
* Receives, verifies, and distributes the weekly inmate commissary orders, fulfilled by the agency's external commissary vendor, to inmates within the housing units in accordance with facility schedules and guidelines.
* Fulfills Indigent inmate supply orders as needed.
* Receives and screens incoming and outgoing packages, including verifying the contents to order documents, and ensuring proper documentation is furnished to support receipts.
* Maintains accurate inventory records and ensure all receipts and issuances are properly accounted for.
* Maintains a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines and policies.
* Monitors inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED.
* 2-3 years of experience in warehouse operations.

Summary:

Maintain sufficient inventory levels to meet demand while maintaining efficient inventory levels and the highest possible inventory turnovers.
Disperse tools and equipment to technicians and maintain employee receipt records.
Perform quarterly and annual audits of inventory items.
Deliver materials to satellite operations centers.
Maintain open and professional communication with all staff, including management, independent contractors, technical staff and office personnel.
Adhere to all safety protocols and standards, ensuring the warehouse is safe, clean, and organized.
Monitor the condition of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensure they are well-maintained and safe to use.

Qualifications:

Location: This position is based at our Walkersville, MD site and is a full-time role with a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Distribution Associate provides daily operational support to the Distribution Department, with working knowledge across Receiving, Shipping, and Warehousing.
