This person will oversee and coordinate complex or multi-site clinical research studies, serve as a resource to provide comprehensive information to clinical research staff, promote smooth clinical operations, prepare regulatory compliance documents, coordinate interaction with other departments, and supervise clinical research coordinators and staff.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
* Acts as the primary liaison to PI in developing plans for clinical research projects; collaborates in the preparation of manuscripts for publication and preparation of grant proposals to sponsoring agencies; assists in the preparation of amendments to protocols and/or modifications to study design as appropriate.
* Evaluates and interprets collected clinical data in conjunction with PI as appropriate; prepares oral or written presentations or reports and analyses setting forth progress trends and provides recommendations or conclusions of the same.
* Manages protocol study start up and study launch, submission, and maintenance of essential regulatory documents. Designs, implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; identifies problems and/or inconsistencies and monitors participant's progress to include documentation and reporting of adverse events; resolves IRB/protocol management issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate; serves as liaison with funding or sponsoring agency.
* Responsible for the development of forms, questionnaires and the application of research techniques; assists in writing instructional procedure manuals for study progress, data collection and coding. Assists in budget review and invoice tracking.
* Provides guidance and supervision to members of research team in the implementation and evaluation of clinical research; trains new staff; serve as lead or as point of reference for other research coordinators for questions, staff scheduling, feedback on performance. Participate in the hiring, training, and evaluation of clinical research staff.
* Assists in scheduling and facilitating site visits by external and internal monitors and auditors.
* Provides study coordinator functions and performs all duties associated with the coordination and implementation of clinical research study/projects, data collection, and the management of data generated by study protocols; consents participants for non-therapeutic clinical trials and performs blood draws and other specimen collection as needed.
* Performs other duties incidental to the work described above.

The employee will provide research support and work closely with faculty and staff supervisors and colleagues in the implementation of a study funded by the National Institutes of Health that involves human subjects and aims to examine substance use and sleep behaviors among college students.
**Responsibilities**
Managing measures/data
+ Assist with custom programming/editing web-based surveys.

Job Summary:
Coordinates collection, analysis, processing & reporting of data & assists Principal Investigator (PI) in judging the validity of test data obtained in regard to biomedical &/or social-behavioral research study(ies) of limited complexity involving co-investigators, multiple campuses &/or universities. Completes all activities by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) & all relevant current local, state, & federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy & procedure developed by the NU Institutional Review Board (IRB), Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), & the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH).
Specific Responsibilities:
Technical
* Participates in the planning & conduct of research study including participant recruitment and retention.
* Obtains informed consent
* Administers tests &/or questionnaires following protocols.
* Collects, compiles, tabulates & processes responses.
* Gathers information.
* Extracts & analyzes data from medical charts.
Administration
* Collects, records, reviews & summarizes research data.
* Collates relevant mathematical results & prepares tables, charts & graphs reflecting relationships of multiple tests.
* Prepares reports for investigators and sponsors on recruitment status and other pertinent study data.
* Writes portions of grant applications & co-author scientific papers.
* Completes documents associated with current local, state, & federal regulatory guidelines, requirements, laws & research protocols.
Finance
* May process payments for research participants per study protocol.
* Works with industry representatives to negotiate tentative grant funding.
* Coordinates reimbursements for expert panel travel, consultant pay, additional gift card orders, etc. & ensure costs remain within allotted grant budget.
Supervision
* May provide work direction &/or train other research staff to interview/test participants.
* May act as a mentor in regards to education of junior coordinators.
Miscellaneous
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience and 2 years' research study or other relevant experience required; OR
Successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a master's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Must complete NU's IRB CITI training before interacting with any participants & must re-certify every 3 years.

Job Summary:
Coordinates non-therapeutic (i.e., minimal risk, survey, chart review) clinical research protocols with direction from the Principal Investigator and/or senior staff in compliance with regulatory laws and institutional guidelines. May assist in complex (i.e., interventional, therapeutic, greater than minimal risk) studies with direction but does not have overall responsibility for these studies.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Coordinates schedules and monitors research activities and subject preparation for minimal risk studies for a defined clinical research trial(s).
* Supports CRC senior staff in the recruitment, screening, eligibility determination process, enrollment of trial participants, and collection of participant information
* Performs supportive administrative and regulatory duties related to the study, as assigned by senior staff
* Recognizes adverse events, protocol deviations, and other unanticipated problems and reports as appropriate
* Collects, abstracts, and enters research data
