Here's what you can expect every day: * Perform all material handling functions related to shipping and warehousing, including truck loading, material receiving, storage and supply of filling lines with packaging components * Ensure secure shipment of finished goods by stretch wrapping of palletized products using stretch wrapping equipment and blocking and bracing loads * Receive and store raw materials in their proper place. Our Material Handlers are responsible for performing a number of different and important responsibilities including material receiving, material & product movement, product shipping and production support responsibilities. This position has a starting hourly wage of $20.35. *This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The first half ($500) is payable after successful completion of the orientation period and the second half ($500) is payable after one consecutive year of employment. * The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 7:00AM - 3:30PM, Monday through Friday. Job Details BYC - BEASLEY FLOORING PRODUCTS INC - Bryson City, NCDescription Responsibility: The primary job is to transport raw materials and finished products to and from the warehouse and finishing line to ensure that the flow of products is uninterrupted. Duties: 1. Transport raw materials from storage areas to the finishing line. 2. Off load milled lumber and transport it to the warehouse for storage. 3. Transport raw flooring to the finish in-feed system. 4. Load trucks with materials to be shipped. 5. Unload and place packaging materials in the appropriate locations in the warehouse. 6. Make sure that all non-conforming material is placed in the hold rows. 7. Remove the waste drums from the manufacturing area, to be held and neatly stored outside the building in the fenced in cage until ready for shipment. 8. Conduct daily inspection of fork truck and fill out Powered Industrial Truck Daily Checklist (Weekly). 9. Other Duties as assigned 10. OPERATOR MUST ALWAYS BE AWARE OF PERSONNEL THAT MAY PASS THRU WAREHOUSE OR OF PERSONNEL WHEN OPERATOR PASSES THRU OTHERS WORK AREAS. OPERATOR MUST ALWAYS DRIVE WITH CAUTION, GIVING ROOM TO PERSONNEL ON THE FLOOR. OPERATOR SHOULD NEVER DRIVE BEYOND CAPABILITIES OR TRAINING. ALWAYS FOLLOW TRAINING PROCEDURES. WHEN CARRYING MATERIAL OPERATOR MUST DRIVE SLOW IN ORDER TO PROTECT OTHERS, THE OPERATOR, AND TO PROTECT THE MATERIAL THAT IS BEING CARRIED Qualifications Physical/Safety Requirements: 1. Must be able to bend, squat, reach, and stoop several times a day. 2. Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours a day. 3. Must be able to lift 1-10 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day (handling materials). 4. Must be able to visualize defects in the product while material is moving. 5. Must be able to safely work around moving machinery and focus on the importance of hand safety. 6. Must be able to work in industrial environment with elevated noise levels, dust, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations 7. Must be able to follow all other general plant safety requirements.
