Maintenance tasks related to vehicles, equipment, buildings, and grounds will be completed to ensure the smooth operation of work activities. Interns will work independently and must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers and the public. Successful applicants must be willing to work nights, weekends, and have a valid driver's license. Pursuit of a career in fisheries and wildlife or biological sciences is desirable. Candidates interested in independent research will complete a proposal with the assistance of a full-time staff member before any data collection efforts. The publication of findings is encouraged. Qualifications: Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
