SCRUB DUTIES 3.* Carries out accepted scrub, gown and gloving techniques. 4.* Follows recommended sequence in organizing sterile supplies, instruments and sutures; understands specific uses of all instruments, equipment and supplies used for the surgical procedure. 5.* Sets up sterile tray; checks for completeness and proper functioning of equipment and supplies. 6.* Maintains neat and orderly back table and mayo tray to facilitate surgeon requests and provide patient care in a timely fashion. 7.* Carries out sponge, instrument and needle counts. 8.* Assists all scrubbed personnel in gowning and gloving. 9.* Hands instruments to the surgeon, has sponges, instruments, sutures, medications and solutions ready as needed. 10.* Saves and hands to circulating nurse all cultures and specimens taken during surgery. 11.* Assists in dressing the surgical site. 12.* Assists in the removal of all instruments and supplies for the disposition after surgery is completed. 13.* Assists with positioning, transfer and transport of patients as assigned. 14.* Utilizes established channels of communication to report significant changes in patient condition, problems with equipment, instrumentation, supplies, etc. B. EMERGENCY MEASURES 15.* Responds appropriately in crisis situations by demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures, remaining calm, and functioning properly in emergencies. 16.* Performs CPR. C.
