James Bryant Homes is a building which was developed and is operated by the Addiction Rehabilitation Center Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit agency. James Bryant Homes is a residential building located on East 129 th street and the corner of Madison Avenue in the East Harlem section of Manhattan. The facility will provide 32 units of supportive housing to homeless or at-risk of homelessness, single adults (age 18 and over) diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI) or who are diagnosed as mentally ill and chemically addicted (MICA), currently known as persons with co-occurring disorders. CAMBA, Inc. is the on-site services provider at James Bryant Homes and provides case management and 24/7 security. Position: Part-Time Security Guard Reports To: Assistant Program Manager Location: 2027 Madison Avenue New York, NY 10035 What The Part-Time Security Guard Does: Maintain access control and traffic inside facilities to ensure the order and security of people and property Detect and/or prevent fires, vandalism, theft, or infractions of the rules Maintain assigned posts throughout the facility until properly relieved Protect employees, visitors, and clients Observe and report irregularities such as unusual behavior, property damage, fire hazards, etc. Provide directions to visitors when requested. Position: PT Security Guard Reports To: Supervisor 1 Location: 57 East 128th Street, New York, N.Y 10035 What The PT Security Guard Does: Monitor and ensure the security and fire safety of the entire facility. Employ crisis prevention/intervention and crisis management skills when conflict occurs. Patrol buildings and grounds of facilities where CAMBA programs are located. Examine doors, windows, gates and all fire exits to determine that they are secure and in accordance with all fire regulations. Observe and report irregularities such as unusual tenant behavior, trespassers, fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. Monitor tenants and facility via security camera systems. Conduct fire safety patrol and report findings or fire safety concerns to appropriate supervisory personnel. Conduct security screenings of all tenants and visitors entering the facility. Issue commendations to support positive tenant behaviors such as peers helping peers, compliance with rules and regulations, etc. Counsel tenants that violate rules (such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles) and complete infraction reports. Observe departing employees, visitors and/or tenants to guard against theft of CAMBA property. Document in the security logbook and incident report forms property damage, unusual occurrences, and incidents with employees, visitors and tenants. Maintain assigned equipment per shift. Sign equipment in and out for each shift. May provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports. Austin 147 is a newly constructed residential building located on East 147th street and the corner of Austin Place in the Mott Haven section of The Bronx. The project consists of an eleven-story elevator building containing 80 residential units, with 79 units of rental housing and one superintendent's unit. CAMBA, Inc. is the on-site services provider at Austin 147. Forty apartments, 50% of the units in the building, will be master leased by CAMBA and will house Population A chronically homeless single adults who are diagnosed with SPMI (seriously and persistently mentally ill) or MICA (mentally III and chemically addicted), couples that qualify and chronically homeless families. The unit breakdown is as follows: 30-studio units for SPMI Singles, 3 one bedroom units for 2 qualifiers and 7 two bedroom units for chronically homeless families. Bronx Grove is a building which was developed and is operated by CAMBA Housing Ventures. The project has 323 total number of dwelling units, 194 units will be supported by social services. There will be an onsite superintendent. The unit distribution is 97 ESSHI units and 97 NY 15/15. CAMBA, Inc. is the on-site services provider. Sixty one apartments, 60% of the units in the building, will be master leased by CAMBA and will house chronically homeless single adults and families who, the head of households, are diagnosed with chronic health conditions. The remaining 129 units are occupied by community residents, who may require some services. Position: Security Guard Reports To: Program Director Location: 261 East 202nd Street and 270 East 203rd street, Bronx, NY 10458 What the Security Guard Does: Monitor and ensure the security and fire safety of the entire facility. Employ crisis prevention/intervention and crisis management skills when conflict occurs. Patrol buildings and grounds of facilities where CAMBA programs are located. Examine doors, windows, gates and all fire exits to determine that they are secure and in accordance with all fire regulations. Observe and report irregularities such as unusual tenant behavior, trespassers, fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. Monitor tenants and facility via security camera systems. Conduct fire safety patrol and report findings or fire safety concerns to appropriate supervisory personnel. Conduct security screenings of all tenants and visitors entering the facility. Issue commendations to support positive tenant behaviors such as peers helping peers, compliance with rules and regulations, etc. Counsel tenants that violate rules (such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles) and complete infraction reports. Observe departing employees, visitors and/or tenants to guard against theft of CAMBA property. Document in the security log book and incident report forms property damage, unusual occurrences, and incidents with employees, visitors and tenants. Maintain assigned equipment per shift. Sign equipment in and out for each shift. May provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports. Minimum Education/Experience Required: High school diploma or G.E.D. and/or equivalent experience. Other Requirements: Obtain “Criminal History Checks” (CHC) fingerprinting through the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs (Justice System). Patrol the facility and grounds to ensure the safety of all persons. Maintain accurate logs of incidents, visitor check-ins, and other relevant activities. Program Description Ann Gonzalez Apartments offers 100 units of permanently affordable and supportive housing in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, developed by CAMBA Housing Ventures (CHV), the housing development subsidiary of CAMBA. These units will support and house a mixed tenant population consisting of low-income working individuals, persons living with severe and persistent mental illness, the formerly chronically homeless, and persons living with HIV/AIDS. CAMBA provides on-site case management and supportive services in addition to 24-hour security. JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Safety Security Officer FLSA: Non-Exempt DIVISION: Operations REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor SALARY: $19.65 hourly The Safety Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all clients, staff, and the property around the facility in a homeless shelter. Operations within our facility are 24 hours. This is a relief position that requires face-to-face relief with mandatory overtime. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and Security Manager of the Facility. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform daily inspections of all clients' rooms Escort clients to appointments as needed Interact with and monitor clients' behavior, maintaining a good rapport by providing excellent customer service. Encourage clients to comply with the facility's policies and procedures. Control access at the main entrance by screening all clients and visitors, utilizing magnetometer/x-ray machine to detect and prevent weapons from entering the site. Perform Crisis Intervention to de-escalate potential crises and document all such situations and interventions. Make hourly rounds throughout the entire facility, including all hallways, stairwells, floors, bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchen, and office spaces. Respond to incidents Assist with client intakes. Perform daily pack-ups and logging of client property belonging to AWOL clients. Store and remove client property once the mandated storage time has expired Maintain a clean and organized storage area Complete logs, incident reports, and all other required documentation. Make calls to police, fire department, and other first responders as directed. Perform administrative and receptionist duties at the operations desk; monitor video surveillance cameras, and the fire prevention/detection alarm notification system.
