The WorkshopFacilitator has the primary responsibility of providing a range of intensive case management, employment readiness and supportive services to Westhab participants. The WorkshopFacilitator will be a part of a team of service providers that will work collectively to operate an innovative program for individuals that face significant barriers to employment. The workshopfacilitator will coordinate and deliver workshops around work readiness to individuals who are preparing to join the workforce. The WorkshopFacilitator will assess basic needs, identify barriers to employment, address those barriers through the delivery of the workshop material, and coordinate services to help shelter residents prepare for and secure jobs with a career path.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct program orientation and intake.
Conduct individual needs assessments to identify strengths and barriers by using a variety of interviewing techniques focusing on the needs of the participants working with the employment specialist
Review Individual Service Plans for residents participating in workshops to address barriers to employment and action steps to address those barriers.
Assist with referrals to general equivalency degree completion and/or vocational training.
Facilitate an intense job readiness attitudinal training component; coordinate leadership, community service and mentoring opportunities.
Track and evaluate program participation and workshop attendance.
Meet with participants on an individual basis to monitor progress while attending workshops; identify resources to meet supportive service (i.e., tutoring) and review progress towards goal attainment as identified on the Individual Employment Plan.
Assist with placement in internships, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
Build relationships with employers, community-based organizations and government agencies to promote collaboration, solve problems, and identify resources for participants.
Follow procedures with regard to recordkeeping, documentation, confidentiality, and maintaining case files.
Collaborate and conference with program partners as deemed appropriate to coordinate services and implement the program.
Ensure program compliance especially as it relates to reporting within the database and program outcomes.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Successful applicants must have strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to provide good customer service, both in person and by telephone; must possess good organizational skills and have a high attention to detail. The successful applicant must have the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work assignments, and maintain confidentiality. Requires a BA Degree in Human Services, Social Work and/or other related fields; or extensive experience working with adults. Must have at least 2 years of experience working with disadvantaged/hard to serve adults. Experience in delivering training or workshops is strongly preferred. In addition, must have strong computer skills. Must have a strong commitment to young people and re-orientating their lives, nurturing their leadership skills and enable them to make a difference in their lives and communities, as a whole. Must be able to handle criss situations with minimum supervision. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

POSITION SUMMARY
The ASTEP part-time facilitator will be responsible for space supervision and co-facilitation of activities with middle and high school teens in areas such as performing arts, tutoring, recreation, and one-on-one mentorship and guidance. This position reports to the ASTEP Coordinator.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:30 - 7:00 pm (approx. 23 hours per week)

Database & Spreadsheet Management: Managing contact lists, alumni data collection, and updating care package lists (using Google Workspace, potentially Salesforce).

What The Youth Facilitator I Does:
The Group Leader/ Youth Facilitator I supports the daily operations of the Community Resource Room by helping residents use computers, navigate online tools, and participate in basic digital activities. This is an entry-level role focused on supervision, customer service, and simple facilitation. The Group Leader helps keep the CRR organized, safe, and welcoming while assisting visitors with everyday digital tasks and workshops.

Education & Youth Development Programs: CAMBA operates more than 20 after school and summer camp programs in New York City, serving over 10,000 elementary and middle school children. This programming includes supper and socialization; homework help; science, technology, engineering and math (STEM); literacy enrichment; recreation activities; conflict resolution; clubs; and community circle. Programs operate during the school year, in the summer, and on most school holidays.
Position: Assistant Youth Facilitator (Group Worker)
Reports To: Assistant Program Director

What The Assistant Youth Facilitator (Group Worker) Does:
Ensure the safety and security of each program participant by following CAMBA Beacon's summer camp protocols and procedures including but not limited to procedures and protocols regarding safety, supervision, accident and incident reporting.
Participate in 5 minute meeting (FMM) before the start of program each day as led by assigned Program Leader in order to share information about the plan for the day and the Assistant's role.
Actively support students in following program guidelines on a daily basis.
Actively support program leader/program specialist in the implementation and documentation of program wide incentive programs with students on a daily basis, and provide follow up on a weekly basis.
Actively supervise students in the hallways, bathrooms and classrooms to ensure a safe environment.
Assist in taking daily student attendance.
Assist in classroom setup before and after program activity.
Distribute, collect, store instructional materials and/or sports equipment/games.
Assist clients, individually or in groups, with summer camp activities to present or to reinforce learning concepts.
Adhere to program polices regarding student arrival and dismissal, snack procedures, transition procedures and trip guidelines.
May assist in the facilitation of a club activity.
May operate learning aids such as film and slide projectors, VCR's, tape recorders, etc.
May prepare requisitions for instructional materials and supplies.
May type and copy instructional materials for distribution.
May confer with family members on progress of clients.
May co-facilitate a club activity.
Tasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over a period of time.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Current high school student.
Other Requirements:
Must obtain Dept. of Health, Dept. of Education fingerprint clearance; doctor's note certifying good health; proof of negative results from TB test; and State Central Registry (SCR) clearance.
Ability to maintain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance and fingerprint clearance throughout the duration of employment.
Ability to adapt to the culture and environment of a public school
Ability and willingness to participate in field trips, requiring dealing with outdoor weather conditions during working hours.

As part of this initiative, the Facilitator will serve as the first point of contact for clients engaging with the new digital screening and appointment queueing systems.
The Facilitator will provide hands-on assistance to clients as they navigate the digital screening, walk-in, and appointment check-in process, and basic troubleshooting to ensure a seamless client experience. This role is essential in bridging the digital divide for clients who may have limited technical literacy or face barriers accessing services. The Facilitator will work under the direction of the Project Coordinator and collaborate closely with Homebase program staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
Greet and assist clients as they arrive at the Homebase site, guiding them through the digital screening and appointment queueing process.
Offer step-by-step support using kiosks or web interfaces to complete program forms, check appointment status, and upload documents.
Provide individualized assistance to clients who face difficulties using digital tools due to language barriers, disability, or unfamiliarity with technology.
Answer client questions and triage concerns or issues to the appropriate staff as needed.
Ensure clients successfully complete the required digital steps for screening and appointments.
Troubleshoot common user errors and escalate system or equipment issues to the Project Coordinator or IT staff as appropriate.
Maintain a welcoming and organized digital intake area within the Homebase office.
Monitor client flow and alert staff to bottlenecks, appointment delays, or technological malfunctions.
Participate in periodic check-ins with the Project Coordinator to review client trends, system performance, and workflow adjustments.
