Lead the Food Safety Team and ensure effective communication of food safety objectives across departments. Monitor trends in microbiological results, environmental swabs, and product testing to proactively identify risks. Leadership & Training Develop and deliver employee training on GMPs, food safety, allergen control, sanitation, and quality awareness. Promote a culture of food safety and continuous improvement throughout the facility. Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams to ensure alignment with quality objectives. Continuous Improvement Analyze process data to identify opportunities for quality improvement and waste reduction. Support implementation of initiatives related to product quality and safety. Recommend and validate changes to formulations, processes, or equipment to improve quality performance. Required Education, Experience & Certifications Bachelor's degree in related field and/or a minimum of 10 years' experience in food manufacturing quality assurance and/or sanitation leadership. Interpret and measure features containing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Use manual inspection tooling such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges and surface plate activities to obtain compliance evidence for requirements up to the fourth decimal place (tenths) of accuracy. Create and review compliance documentation related to Receiving, In-process and Final inspection on Materials, Processes and Completed Products. Ensure conformance with customer Drawing, Specification and Purchase Order. Assist engineering department in implementing strategies to improve accuracy. Qualifications: Have recent 3-5 years (min) working experience within a machine shop atmosphere. Have a reasonable understanding of math, including trigonometry and geometry. Have a strong understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5. Be skilled in the use of all measurement equipment and machinery within a manufacturing environment. You'll maintain the necessary records to meet both company and customer documentation requirements. Tasks and Responsibilities: Conduct First Article Inspection on new products and/or revised products. Inspection throughout the entire manufacturing process including inspection of raw materials, parts, sub-assemblies and finished goods. Ensure appropriate action is taken when non-conforming material is found. Make production run or hold recommendations based on the critically of the defect. Ensure operators are processing or assembling material according to Work Orders and/or BOM. Communicate discrepancies to the attention of the Supervisor, Assistant Q.C. Manager and Q.C. Manager Document performed inspections including non-conforming product found during the inspection process. Create DMR's in Epicor for all non-conforming product. Operate basic measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc. Follow Q.C. procedures, plans and test procedures as outlined Examine, disposition and document customer returns. Maintain good housekeeping and safety in all of the quality control work areas Prompt completion of tasks assigned by Quality Management. All other tasks so assigned.
