REMOTE Loan Servicing Quality Assurance Analyst

**Come join our amazing team and work a remote schedule!** The Loan Servicing Quality Assurance Analyst position will be responsible for applying proven analytical, problem-solving, and testing/validation skills to ensure CMS's loan servicing business units are in compliance with all internal policies and procedures, adhering to federal, state, local and governmental regulatory requirements, and investor/product specific guidelines. Testing conducted may encompass life of loan processes. Perform all duties in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, investor guidelines, and all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. The approved Target Pay range for this position is $29.00 - $31.00.
**What you'll do:**
+ Complete a thorough assessment of document provisioning and/or remediation plans assigned and identify items that require clarification.
+ Evaluate process remediations received from servicing business units and determine if plan is sufficient to ensure compliance.
+ Create and maintain documentation of processes, reports, applications, and procedures as per department policy.
+ Conduct testing for internal and external low/medium risk findings to ensure successful plan implementation of resolution and that finding is remediated. Testing must be conducted accurately and in accordance with established testing timelines and standards.
+ Identify exception based on testing performed and notify department management of any observations that are outside of the testing scope but require action.
+ Obtain approval of testing as documented by department procedure or at the direction of management.
+ Perform loan data analysis to validate and communicate test results to servicing business unit as outlined by department management.
+ Perform recurring testing as assigned.
+ Research external or internal findings, propose initial response(s) to business units, obtain approval if modifications are made to business unit responses ensuring responses are submitted timely to internal and external parties.
+ Utilize SharePoint and other systems to track all assignments and update the status accordingly.
+ Escalate issues of risk concern to management and maintain appropriate data integrity and confidentiality.
+ Follow department procedures for shared mailbox use.
+ Perform assigned compliance testing as assigned and promptly escalate compliance concerns.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**What you'll need:**
+ High school diploma required; bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience preferred.
+ Three (3) or more years' experience in mortgage/loan servicing.
+ Two (2) or more years' experience with quality data analysis, testing and reporting.
+ Knowledge of mortgage industry terminology, including knowledge of prominent general servicing and default timelines
+ Knowledge of utilizing Loan Servicing technology to research, validate and obtain information.
+ Proficient in MS Office with basic skills in Excel
+ Strong analytical, problem solving, collaboration and technical skills.
+ Strong time management skills
+ Ability to adapt to changes and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) is seeking two experienced quality control professionals to fill the position of Quality Control Specialist. The selected candidate will perform federal quality control reviews and monitor and evaluate agency performance by reviewing work completed by Benefits Eligibility & Referral Social Worker (BERSW) staff, supervisors and managers.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
Monitors and evaluates work performed by other staff using multiple standards of review, determines whether actions taken are consistent with both state and federal guidelines and reports inconsistencies within prescribed timeframes.
Reviews and analyzes a statistically valid sample of cases in all categories of public assistance to determine the accuracy of casework performed.
Determines the correctness of financial assistance payments made by local office personnel and assists in the computation and production of state and local office error rates.
Performs state and federal Local Office Quality Control reviews; collects data on agency cases for the Federal Government, using Federal definitions.
Conducts in-depth interviews with recipients throughout the state, both in the office and through home visits, with individuals who may be uncooperative or belligerent, in conjunction with research activities that are significantly different from those conducted for eligibility determinations.
Evaluates local office operations to identify programmatic and operational deficiencies to facilitate effective corrective action.
Monitors and implements court decisions to ensure compliance and avoid potential court sanctions.
Conducts high-risk investigatory reviews to determine fraud.
Performs special review projects on various topics that may involve interaction with external government and private agencies.
Contacts collateral sources statewide to corroborate the accuracy of eligibility findings and benefit payments. Maintains collateral contacts with banks, the post office and other government agencies (Department of Children and Families, Social Security Administration, Department of Unemployment Assistance, etc.)
Applies federal quality control guidelines and state policy standards to determine the correctness of each case reviewed for each category of assistance a client receives.
Required Qualifications
Ability to determine the accuracy of eligibility findings and benefit payment decisions in randomly selected cases.
Capacity to integrate multiple program criteria and apply them in the quality control review process for casework actions.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment, plan and organize work, work accurately with names, numbers, codes and/or symbols and assemble items of information in accordance with established procedures.
Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of client data, draw conclusions, make appropriate recommendations, prepare general reports and maintain accurate records.
Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others who may be under physical/emotional stress as well as the ability to maintain a calm manner and exercise sound judgment in stressful and/or emergency situations. Conducts detailed reviews of data tapes, remittance files, investor reports, bank reconciliations, and quarterly audits. Work closely with the ESR advance facility associates and Manager to validate information, identify discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of issues. Perform all duties in accordance with the company's policies and procedures and all applicable US state and federal laws and regulations. The pay for this position is $28.00 - $33.00 an hour.
**What you'll do:**
- Review, validate, and approve data tapes to ensure accuracy of loan-level information and alignment with servicing system records.
- Conduct monthly audits for various aspects of ESR reporting, including but not limited to loan level detail review, control testing, draft, and complete audit exception/citation detail.
- Analyze and reconcile remittance files, ensuring proper reporting of cash activity, investor distributions, and servicing fee calculations.
- Perform quality control review of monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations, verifying balances, deposits, withdrawals, and exception items.
- Complete audit packages received from investors, accurately and in accordance with established audit timelines and standards while adhering to investor requirements.
- Identify variances, data inconsistencies, or reporting gaps/trends, and work with internal teams and associates to research and resolve issues.
- Supporting internal and external audits by providing required documentation, explanations, and trend analysis.
- Maintain documentation of QC findings, approvals, and follow up items in accordance with internal policy and investor standards.
- Maintain compliance with servicing agreements, regulatory standards, company policies, and procedures.
- Conduct a first level review of Analysts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Function as subject matter expert and back up to Supervisor as needed.
- Assist in daily/weekly/monthly report preparation and distribution.
- Escalate matters of continued non-compliance and/or recommendations for improvement to leadership team.
- Participate in monthly compliance meetings and assist with special audits, as necessary.
**What you'll need:**
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience required, Bachelor's degree in related fields preferred.
- Three (3) or more years' mortgage loan servicing reporting experience.
- One plus (1+) year of quality control/quality assurance experience.

Overview
The Research & Materials Section (RMS) serves as MassDOT's central materials laboratory. Our engineers, chemists, technicians, inspectors, and administrative professionals support MassDOT by ensuring that MassDOT complies with all applicable federal guidelines and regulations relating to construction material quality. Staff are responsible for the sampling and testing of construction materials, developing a wide range of material standards and guidelines, evaluating laboratories throughout the Commonwealth, and facilitating research projects. Position Summary
The Research & Materials, Civil Engineer I in the QA Section, will function as staff engineer and will review and update all information relating to construction materials used for MassDOT. They may perform sampling and testing, perform inspection oversight and audits at various plants, review project documentation, prepare unit related correspondences and participate in the NTPEP Program.
