We are recruiting for Respiratory Therapist in our Respiratory Care department. The Respiratory Therapist provides personal care and professional excellence utilizing the scope of respiratory care practice in providing care and education for patients, families and community.

Job Duties:
Provide respiratory care to patients of all ages, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations
Evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders
Responsible for the proper and safe administration of respiratory care including intermittent and continuous therapy, blood gas sampling and analysis, mechanical ventilation, airway management and non-invasive oxygen and carbon dioxide monitoring
Assist in stabilization of neonate patients during high risk delivery cases
Shift Details:
Hours: Full Time, 36 hours / week
Shift: 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm
Rotation: weekend shift and on-call rotation required
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Certification:
NBRC registered as a CRT or RRT.
Current RCP license in the state of Ohio.
BLS, PALS, ACLS and NRP required or obtained upon hire.
In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the CT Technologist is responsible for operating the CT scanner and obtains diagnostic scans. Positions patients and administers oral and intravenous contrast agents for particular diagnostic procedures. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Functions:
Operates the CT scanner to obtain diagnostic scans utilizing the scope of practice for medical imaging as defined by ARRT and ASRT and in compliance with the Ohio Department of Heath rules and regulations.
Reviews each examination for technical accuracy.
Proficient at transmitting images to PACS and scanning in appropriate documents.
Rotates CT call.
Checks for expiration dates on supplies and disposes of expired items.
75% attendance at department meetings.
Schedules patients in conjunction with the Outpatient Scheduling Department.
Maintains compliance in RQI.
Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Two years post high school education.
Current radiologic licensure from the State of Ohio Department of Health and ARRT registered required.
CT Technologist certification is requested within 2 years and required at 3 years.
Failure to obtain within 2 years will result in progressive disciplinary action each quarter (see Personnel Policy No. 90:02 Disciplinary Action).
BLS certification required.
Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of computer.

Requires:
* Valid Ohio license or permit for practicing Respiratory care
* Chronic care and experience with ventilators preferred
* Experience with the Developmental Disabilities population and experience with individuals with highly complex continuous needs is preferred. Must maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. Responsibilities
Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices.
Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning via various methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal).
Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.
Review patient's chest x-rays to assess need for further evaluation.
Perform 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
Conduct pulmonary function studies per policy.
Assist with procedures related to respiratory care such as Bronchoscopy and Chest Tube placement.
Perform tracheostomy care as specified in policy.
Execute arterial puncture procedures and assess ventilation efficiency.
Follow laboratory testing policies, including specimen handling and quality controls.
Practice cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
Set up and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment.
Record treatment information and patient responses accurately in patient charts.
