The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing and analyzing cost expenditures within the organization as well as the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis and tracing costs back to underlying activities. This role partners cross-functionally with Operations, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to trace root causes of variances, recommend process improvements, and ensure accurate financial reporting. Position Responsibilities: Drives accounting process within the plant to ensure accurate books, records and compliance to key control requirements including Sarbanes Oxley. Act as an active financial advisor to the Operations management team. Support Operations staff in developing and interpreting financial and non-financial performance measurements. Collaborate across departments to identify, trace, and resolve inventory and cost anomalies. Must have hands-on knowledge of how manufacturing works operationally. Demonstrate ownership and proactive curiosity when addressing issues to identify and address problems before they escalate. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote better cost control discipline. Lead cross-functional meetings with Operations, SCM, and PLM, with a focus on continuous improvement. Monitor and collect inventory and cost data; review daily/weekly/monthly reports and investigate variances to ensure proper financial reporting. Build dashboards, business intelligence reports, and cost models in Oracle (Fusion preferred). Must understand how ERP settings impact cost behavior across supply chain transactions, labor routings, and WO closure rules. Lead Perpetual Inventory reviews, E&O Reserve analysis, inventory forecasting, operational data analysis, and ERP integrity audits. Thrive in environments where processes may be evolving, must have a continuous improvement mindset and comfort working through ambiguity. Other duties as assigned. Financial Analyst - Field Operations The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing current financial processes to develop recommendations for process improvement and to improve project cost estimating. The analyst will assist with both capital and operating budget analysis and development to ensure that the Field Operation's strategic goals are achieved. Create and generate trending reports to evaluate business critical tasks, i.e. cost per linear foot of pipe installed, service replacements/installation costs and evaluate the cost of work performed by contracted vendors. Prepare study, report, and analysis in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts and capital main replacement and new business project estimation. Conduct audits for each contract which will include original contract, all correspondence, deviations, amendments, clarifications, work and payment schedules and request for change orders because of contingencies. Prepare contract change notices, monitor contractor performance, including the reporting and status of contractor and owner deliverables. Assist in the development of new systems and technological advancements. Analyze current fiscal year spending to ensure Field Operations remain within budget and identify opportunities to maximize available approved funding. Assist with fiscal year end close and act as liaison between Operations and Accounts Payable to ensure all expenses are captured in the current fiscal year. Coordinate with other departments to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding Field Operations contracts, and financial reporting, including new business and planning, to trend future resource requirements and improve capital and operating budget projections. Summary: Responsible for tracking financial performance of capital spending, forecasting, and variance analysis for Sunoco LP. Assists and supports short and long-term capital planning activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial review reporting deck for Executive Management * Support the company-wide annual budget planning and subsequent monthly forecasting process for all capital * Coordinate with field analysts, operations management, and project managers to accurately budget and forecast projects * Conduct capital variance analysis including budget/forecast vs. actual, quarter vs. quarter, current year vs. prior year * Regularly present results, forecasts, and budgets to commercial, operations, and executive leadership * Provide Ad Hoc capital spend analysis for operations and commercial departments * Work closely with Accounting, HR, Insurance, Tax, and other departments to ensure accuracy of financial transactions * Participate in team objectives of maximizing efficiencies with reporting, automation, and optimization * Provide support of our TM1 production and development environments supporting multiple users, maintaining existing dimensions and managing user access/security * Provide quarterly/annual capital support for earnings releases, 10-K, 10-Q, and other external financial reporting for discussion and analysis purposes * Prepare quarterly reports for Investor Relations, Board of Directors, and M&A teams * Contribute to overall Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team goals as needed Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: * Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field * Associate Analyst 0-3 years; Analyst 3-5 years; Sr Analyst 5-8 years of related work experience * Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills * Must be highly proficient with MS Excel * High level of communication skills, both verbal and written * Highly organized with the ability to perform multiple tasks * Self-starter with ability to learn quickly Preferred Qualifications: * Historical experience in the energy sector is preferred * IBM Cognos TM1 experience preferred, but not required to apply.
