The role you'll contribute:
Responsible for performing CT imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Positions, moves, and assists patients to ensure accurate imaging results. This role performs clerical duties and provides basic patient care within the scope of practice and departmental standards. In addition, this position adheres to compliance plans and regulations of local, state, and federal agencies.

Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
Qualifications

High School Grad or Equivalent Required
Registered Technologist Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)) [Required]
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required

EDUCATION
Graduate of an AMA approved CT program of study at the associate's or bachelor's degree level.
LICENSURE

Essential Functions:
Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Obtains and examines the requisition for a radiographic examination in order to be aware of information such as procedure requested, patient's condition, and any other special notes or comments.
Always thoroughly explains the procedure, about to be performed, in order to facilitate cooperation and alleviate patient anxiety; addresses patient's concerns of radiation exposure.
Reviews patient's condition and determines the proper exposure factor for each radiograph; refers to department manual or reference material as required.
Always demonstrates an awareness of radiation safety procedures for self and others; wears protective clothing and remains behind the protective enclosure during exposures; minimizes radiation exposure to the patient and self.
Observes patient and machine during procedure and reports any unusual occurrences; always informs appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in patient's condition; promptly reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
Regularly checks equipment, accessories and supplies; keeps area stocked at all times, cleans and disinfects equipment after each use.
Minimum Education:
Associate degree required.
Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
BLS required
Licenses:
ARRT required
