It may include telehealth services utilizing both audio and visual communication with individuals. BHPs provide individual, family and group counseling, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, initial assessments to determine level of care, treatment planning, case presentations, presenting psychoeducational information to individuals regarding diagnosis, symptoms, medications, relapse prevention and safety planning. The BHP provides services to both children and adults. The position also includes participating in multidisciplinary case conferences and supervision, treatment plan reviews, developing aftercare treatment and all required documentation utilizing Collaborative Documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Primary focus is on providing comprehensive clinical services and therapy which includes biopsychosocial assessments, screening and placement for level of care, diagnosis, individual psychotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, brief interventions utilizing evidence-based care and tools and educational counseling services to a caseload of person's served consisting of adults and children.
•Community- based mental health services which includes services in the persons served home, school or community location in addition to office and telehealth clinical services.
•BHP Licensed Psychotherapists are expected to complete the Certificate of Professional Initiating Involuntary Examination form for any individual meeting Baker Act criteria in their presence.
•BHPs and mandatory providers are expected to adhere to all Florida mandatory reporting laws in addition to but not limited to child abuse and elderly abuse.
•Complete all required documentation utilizing Collaborative Documentation and all agency formats/standards
•Maintain on-going relationships with community agencies and function as a liaison with identified individuals/organizations
•Participate in community education/activities program presentations as required

Prevocational Services
Prevocational Services are individually designed to prepare a youth (age 14 or older) to engage
in paid work, volunteer work or career exploration. Prevocational Services are not job-specific,
but rather are geared toward facilitating success in any work environment for youth whose
disabilities do not permit them access to other prevocational services. The service will be
reflected in youth's plan of care and must be directed to teaching skills rather than explicit
employment objectives. In addition, Prevocational Services assist with facilitating appropriate
work habits, acceptable job behaviors, and learning job production requirements.
Respite
This service focuses on short-term assistance and/or relief for children/youth with disabilities
(developmental, physical and/or behavioral), and family/caregivers which can be provided in a
planned mode or delivered in a crisis environment. Respite workers supervise the child/youth
and engage the child in activities that support his/her and or caregiver/family's constructive
interests and abilities.
Planned respite services provide planned short-term relief for family/caregivers that are needed to enhance the family/caregiver's ability to support the child/youth's functional, mental health/substance use disorder and/or health care issues. The service is direct care for the child/youth by staff trained to support the child/youth's needs while providing relief from caregiver activities for the family/caregiver. This may occur in short-term increments of time (usually during the day) or on an overnight or longer-term increment. Planned Respite Services support the plan of care goals. Planned Respite activities include providing supervision and recreational activities that match the child/youth's developmental stage and continue to maintain the participant's health and safety.
Crisis Respite is a short-term care and intervention strategy for children/youth and their families as a result of a child's mental health/substance use crisis event, medical crisis or trauma that creates a risk for an escalation of symptoms without supports and/or loss of functioning. It may be used when acutely challenging emotional or medical crisis occur which the child/youth is unable to manage without intensive assistance and support. The need for Crisis Respite may be identified as a result of crisis intervention or may come from referrals from the emergency room, the community, LDSS/LGU/SPOA, school, self-referrals, Care Manager referrals, or as part of a step-down plan from an inpatient setting.
Supported Employment
Supported Employment provides ongoing supports to participants who, because of their disabilities, need intensive on-going support to obtain and maintain and individual job in competitive or customized employment, or self-employment, in an integrated work setting in the general workforce for which an individual is compensated at or above the minimum wage, but not less than the customary wage and level of benefits paid by the employer for the same or similar work performed by individuals without disabilities. The outcome of this service is sustained paid employment at or above the minimum wage in an integrated setting in the general workforce, in a job that meets personal and career goals.
Caregiver/Family Advocacy Supports and Services
Caregiver/Family Advocacy and Support Services enhance the child/youth's ability, regardless of disability (developmental, physical, and/or behavioral), to function as part of a caregiver/family unit and enhance the caregiver/family's ability to care for the child/youth in the home and/or community as well as, provides the child/youth, family, caregivers, and collateral contacts (family members, caregivers, and other stakeholders identified on the child/youth's POC) with techniques and information not generally available so that they can better respond to the needs of the participant. These services are intended to assist the child/youth, family/caregiver, and collateral contacts in understanding and addressing the participant's needs related to their disability(ies). These services can enhance the child/youth's ability, regardless of disability (developmental, physical, and/or behavioral), to function as part of a caregiver/family unit and enhance the caregiver/family's ability to care for the child/youth in the home and/or community.
Community Habilitation
Habilitation services assists children/youth with developmental, medical or behavioral disabilities with the self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary for successful functioning

Properly document all necessary information on each child in order to bill for services accordingly.

Education and Experience

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

The Clinician in the Clinical Services Department will provide direct services to the cross section of the program's caseload including children, adolescents, adults and families in the assigned offices, school-based sites, and via telehealth. Training and/or experience in trauma informed treatment is required. Tasks include, but are not limited to: implementing evidence-based interventions, maintaining a full caseload and fulfilling productivity requirements, completing timely and accurate clinical documentation, and attending supervision, meetings, and trainings. Clinicians utilize their professional expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat their clients using their clinical discretion and judgement. These tasks will be carried out within the agency's policy of confidentiality and with respect for the clients' rights.
Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide a full range of mental health and counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and families to ensure maximum client benefit
Provide culturally sensitive services to young children, adolescents, adults, and families, with a focus on supporting individuals with histories of trauma and those identifying as LGBTQ+, in assigned offices, schools, and via telehealth
Ensure all services are delivered with strict adherence to confidentiality regulations and with full respect for client rights and dignity
Track and report service statistics and client outcomes as required for program evaluation and compliance
Comply with requirements for EHR (electronic health record) documentation based on policies and procedures
Utilize evidence-based interventions (i.e. CBT, TF-CBT, MI) and best practices to address client's presenting issues
Maintain full client caseload to ensure productivity standards (25 hours) are achieved weekly
Maintain updated Outlook calendar to allow for immediate assignment and appointments for new clients. Independently schedule ongoing clients
Clinician must maintain a flexible 5-day workweek, be available for evening appointments until 8pm Monday-Thursday, and has the discretion to adjust their regular workweek and schedule telehealth sessions on weekends as needed to accommodate client availability and ensure continuity of care
Provide weekly sessions for clients on caseload, and discharge clients as appropriate
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical records while adhering to compliance standards and regulations, including licensing and accreditation standards, and agency policy and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to: ensuring intake packet and consent forms are complete; completing Biopsychosocial Assessment with clinical summary to support diagnosis; develop Treatment Plan Goals in collaboration with Client and/or parent/guardian and 90-day Treatment Plan Reviews; complete progress notes within 24 hrs. of session; complete Termination/Transfer Summaries within 15 days of case closure/transfer
Review “Caseload Tracking Form” weekly to ensure tasks and case record requirements are adhered to
In response to monthly chart audits, make corrections as required, and review with supervisor
Clinicians meet with their supervisors weekly to review caseloads, discuss factors affecting service delivery or performance, and utilize their professional expertise, clinical judgment, and discretion to assess, diagnose, and treat clients effectively
Attend monthly in-service trainings hosted at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation
Participation in community outreach

Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Clinical Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology, required
LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC or license eligible in the state of Florida, required
Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience, working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, with required specialization in supporting those with trauma/abuse histories, and gender and identity-related issues
Knowledge evidence-based therapy modalities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar working with EHR software
Able to collaborate with other disciplines and service providers
Ability to exercise good judgment and demonstrate good boundaries
Knowledge of cultural issues and demonstrates ability to be sensitive to the range of clients served by the agency
Bi-lingual, preferred: English/Spanish or English/Creole
