JOB SUMMARY The Strength and Conditioning Coach will develop, implement, and supervise comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for Cleveland State Community College's current varsity sports teams include men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, and golf, along with any additional sports teams introduced at the college. The coach will ensure individualized, sport-specific training that prioritizes student-athlete safety, injury prevention, and optimal performance in collaboration with athletic trainers and head coaches of each sports team. This is a temporary part-time position requiring 10 hours of work per week over a 9-month contract term. The contract runs from August 1st to November 30th and from January 1st to May 31st. The months of December, June, and July are not included in the working schedule. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Design and oversee group and individual strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for all six athletics teams. Supervise workouts to ensure correct technique and safety practices; integrate rehabilitation plans for injured or recovering athletes in coordination with the Athletic Trainer. Monitor progress through standardized strength metrics, testing, and data tracking for each sport program. Communicate frequently with the Moeller Cheerleading Administrator on all aspects of the team. Supervise and direct the assistant cheerleading coach and/or junior varsity coach. Recruit, train, and mentor student-athletes while emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and school spirit. Create and encourage a healthy culture on each cheer team that embodies the Mission of Moeller High School and its Marianist charism. Develop and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for cheerleaders. Participate with the administrator in the creation of the annual cheerleading budget. Effectively communicate with cheerleaders and parents before and during the seasons. Schedule and coordinate annual activities including but not limited to try-outs, uniform fittings, summer camp, weekly practices. Determine tryout criteria. Teach the material/stunts/dances that will be used during the seasons. Attend designated junior varsity and varsity football and basketball games to supervise the cheerleaders. Maintain contact and provide guidance with parent volunteer group as to what assistance is needed at events. Assist in organization of an end of the year banquet, awards, and senior traditions. Required Skills Proven experience as a competitive cheerleader or cheer coach. Ability to teach cheerleading techniques including tumbling, stunts, jumps, cheers, and choreograph high energy performances. Ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team of high school students from various schools. Comprehensive understanding of cheerleading techniques, safety protocols and OHSAA rules. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work with young athletes, foster discipline, and manage different skill levels. Evaluate cheerleader's performance and provide constructive feedback and guidance. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all cheerleaders. Bachelors Degree in Education, Physical Education or Sport Administration preferred.
