Objective
The Kidder Creek Assistant Cook is responsible for assisting the Head Cook at Ranch Camp or Timberline in all aspects of preparing meals for guests and staff at Kidder Creek (“KC”) in a safe manner consistent with MHA's mission, vision and values.
General Qualifications
The Kidder Creek Assistant Cook position is a
Ministerial
Support staff position. Ministerial Support staff serve in operational and service support roles and are not required to personally affirm MHA's Christian mission, vision and beliefs. However, it is expected that staff who fill these roles - no matter their personal beliefs - respect, work in harmony with, and not undermine MHA's Christian mission, vision and beliefs. All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.
Key Job Accountabilities
Complete menu as provided and instructed by the Cook at Ranch Camp or Timberline.
Pull, prepare, serve and store food in accordance with food handling procedures to ensure safe, nutritious meals for guests' enjoyment and to prevent food spoilage and/or foodborne illness.
Assist in instructing summer staff/students about prepping, serving, clean up, and dishwashing methods.
Other duties as assigned by the Cook and/or the Food Service Coordinator.

Education/Certifications
Food Handlers Card will be required.
Work Experience
Food handling experience desirable but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be interested and passionate about cooking with a desire to learn more about cooking.
Willing to learn.
Must be observant and attentive.
Ability to follow instructions and ask questions to ensure understanding.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift 35-50 lbs. This job may require lifting and carrying cases of canned goods, sacks of dry product, etc.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Additional Requirements/Skills
