Responsibilities
Provides overall contract administration, technical expertise, and support to a medium size construction project.
Develops and implements the project safety plan and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
Ensures the project is constructed as per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule.
Understands client drivers and offers value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefit.
Manages project performance and providing performance status reports for safety, cost forecast, and schedule.
Negotiates and issues subcontracts, major purchase orders and progress payments and monitors their progress and schedule.
Understands, communicates, and enforces the contract and contract documents.
Develops and coordinates overall project closeout.
Identifies and manages risk and opportunities on construction projects.
If applicable, for design build project deliveries:
Monitors progress of the design, including compliance issues, quality, general coordination, constructability, and timing of deliverables.
Assists the project team lead obtain a comprehensive design-management and design-quality plan and conduct periodic quality audits to ensure compliance.
Keeps all parties informed of potential opportunities and challenges and manages stakeholders' expectations through appropriate forms of communication.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
8-10 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred.
Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
In-depth knowledge of construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.
Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
Ability to identify and manage risk and opportunities on construction projects.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

Provide engineering technical development, oversight, project execution and project management responsibilities in support of new greenfield and brownfield projects across several industries in the Energy sector. Responsibilities/Competencies
Lead, supervise and guide multi-disciplinary teams in the preparation and coordination of basic design or detail drawings ensuring deadlines are met and that work is completed to the required quality standards.
Review and prepare for issuance all projectengineering and design deliverables through the document control process.
Manage the interface between Requisitioning Engineers and Supply Chain to facilitate the requisitioning and purchase of engineered equipment.
Coordinate and expedite the receipt and technical review of third party major equipment submittal drawing packages.
Facilitate weekly progress and schedule forecast updates for reporting to internal management and client stakeholders.
Coordinate with Construction teams to manage and resolve RFIs and provide general construction support from mobilization through commissioning.

Requirements
2-10 years' experience in Oil and Gas facility construction with a bachelor's degree (minimum) in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, civil, electrical, or chemical).
If no degree, 10 years' work experience within teams executing similar Oil and Gas facility construction projects will be considered in lieu of Engineering Degree.
Experience with application of pertinent industry codes a plus (ASME, ASCE, API, IEEE)
Familiarity with the life cycle of executing EPC projects, including objectives, scope, schedule and deliverables
Familiarity with Microsoft suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Project)
Tenacious, results oriented approach to work with high quality work standards.
Impeccable personal and professional ethics and a commitment to a strong safety culture
Occasional travel involved to support projects during Construction phases.
Physical Requirements

**Responsibilities:**

2. Participates in the detailed estimating of cost and construction time for proposed changes; may participate in direct negotiations with owners about change orders; when negotiations are concluded, the PE I ensures that contract plans and the master schedule are updated properly
3. Prepares submittal schedule as required to meet construction schedule and coordinates submissions with subcontractors; assumes overall responsibility for submittals to include checking for accuracy, transmittals to and from subcontractors, architects, superintendents, and maintaining logs; expedites delivery of submittals when necessary to avoid delays in construction; keeps project manager abreast of submissions that will impact schedule
4. Prepares and/or oversees preparation of a number of reports dealing with the project, such as material logs, submittal logs, RFI logs, drawing logs, long-lead items log as required by owners and/or company operating procedures
5. Assists the project manager in the preparation of subcontracts; assists in resolving any problems regarding interpretation and/or execution of the subcontract; alerts the project manager to problems that have not been satisfactorily resolved at this level and proposes alternative courses of action
6. Assists in the verification of monthly subcontractor payment requests
7. May assume a role in locating suppliers for various building materials; reviews invoices upon request to verify quantity, quality and prices for construction materials
8. Responds to requests for information (RFIs) from owners and subcontractors, preparing RFIs for the project architect and/or structural engineer of record when necessary to clarify technical issues concerning the project; ensures that information received in response to RFIs is routed to the applicable field superintendent and subcontractors
9. Assists in compiling close-out documents, including as-built drawings, guarantees, warranties, service manuals and other related documents for delivery to the owner; may prepare Austin's warranty for inclusion in this package and assist in preparing other close-out documents as assigned
10. Participates in jobsite safety as outlined in company's Safety & Health Manual
11. When not assigned to a project, the PE I generally is assigned to the Estimating department and tasked with preparation of detailed cost estimates; may assist with value engineering activities and the pricing of those alternate procedures; interacts with a wide variety of construction professionals, including owner representatives, architects, structural engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
**Requirements:**
+ B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ 2 years' work experience in the construction industry
+ Successful completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required (may obtain within first year of employment)
+ Experience with the following: RFI, submittals, and punch-list
