Part-Time Custodian JobID: 3654 Custodial / Maintenance / Grounds/Custodian Additional Information: Show/Hide The Part-Time Custodian will provide custodial services for his/her respective building. Responsibilities:
* General custodial cleaning of assigned area which could consist of vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, drinking fountains, windows, and removal of trash.
Qualifications:
* Must have the ability to assume responsibility with minimum supervision.
* Must possess proper safety knowledge and acceptable applications of safety techniques.
* Must possess the ability to secure the area when finished with tasks in an assigned area.
Schedule:
Wednesday
4 hours per day - 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Full year
School year: 4 hrs week
Summer: 4 hrs week, flexible
Compensation:
Range is $13.73 - $14.52 per hour
Replacement

Carpet care, vacuuming, spot cleaning and extraction.
Trash, recycling and compost removal from premises.
Restroom cleaning; fixtures, mirrors, hard surfaces, restocking.
Window washing.
Classroom cleaning; all aspects.
Office cleaning; all aspects.
Facility entrances and grounds trash pick-up and cleaning.
Setting up rooms and spaces for various College functions and events including set-up, tear down, and reorganization of room furnishings in a short time.
Other facility cleaning as required.
Assisting the Facility Security Department when required.

Occasional duty to cover front desk and telephone as a relief person

Paint walls and floor surfaces as required. This includes patching and repairing walls and floor surfaces

A position classified as a part-time custodian is available with the Facilities Management department in the McKessy House and Print Services areas. The work schedule will be 20 hours per week. Position Overview
Join us in the summer of 2026 and help us continue our legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking team-oriented and dedicated Custodians who embody our core values and are committed to supporting young artists. As a Custodian, you'll play a major role by providing and maintaining a clean and safe environment for students, faculty and guests.

This is a seasonal position located in Interlochen, Michigan. Housing is not included for this position, and employees are responsible for arranging their own accommodations.
What You Need
Availability 6/7/2026 - 9/21/2026
A willingness to learn
Custodial or housekeeping experience preferred, but is not necessary
Ability to be flexible with scheduling to include some peak busy times and one time only assignments
Ability to work an assignment that requires standing, walking, lifting, and possible exposure to all outside weather conditions
Ability to use typical equipment associated with cleaning activities, including but not limited to mops, vacuums, cleaning chemicals, and household type ladders
Ability to work independently AND as a part of a team.
Ability to follow instructions
Valid driver license

Custodial / Maintenance / Grounds/Custodian
The Part-Time Custodian will provide custodial services for his/her respective building.
Responsibilities:
General custodial cleaning of assigned area which could consist of vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, drinking fountains, windows, and removal of trash.
Qualifications:
Must have the ability to assume responsibility with minimum supervision.
Must possess proper safety knowledge and acceptable applications of safety techniques.
Must possess the ability to secure the area when finished with tasks in an assigned area.
Schedule:
Wednesday
4 hours per day - 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Full year
School year: 4 hrs week
Summer: 4 hrs week, flexible
Compensation:
Range is $13.73 - $14.52 per hour
Replacement
Once the posting deadline has been met, the supervisor will review applications and schedule interviews with the most qualified candidates. An email will be sent to applicants when the position has been filled.
