Associate Manager, New Verticals - Logistics Strategy & Operations
Los Angeles, CA jobs
About the Team New Verticals is an exciting team at DoorDash that is building and scaling new ways to delight our customers beyond restaurant delivery. Our Catalog, Fulfillment and Logistics team has three major mandates to effectively onboard merchants, fulfill every order with speed & accuracy and improve our logistics network. We are able to do this by identifying efficiencies, building product toolings and launching operational processes at scale. You will own metrics, pull operational & product levers and drive impactful results across our Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol and Retail businesses.
About the Role
We're looking for an Associate Manager to join our Logistics pod to focus on driving meaningful improvements to our cost, efficiency and quality initiatives. You'll lead a small, agile pod with a focus on uncovering actionable insights and driving measurable impact-without waiting for perfect data or a full product roadmap. The metrics you'll impact will be dasher cost, fulfillment cost per order, cancellations, consumer satisfaction and so many more!
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves to dig deep into data, and has a strong bias toward action. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, designing creative solutions, and executing them end-to-end with a high degree of ownership.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
* Analyze. You love working with data to drive business decision-making and are familiar with SQL.
* Lead: You'll spearhead cross-functional projects, collaborating with Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to develop and implement tech solutions that increase selection across our New Vertical offerings.
* Strategize: You will own and deliver on improving key selection metrics. You'll create and execute quarterly and annual strategic plans aligned with product capabilities to elevate order quality.
* Build: You will build strategic initiatives and drive innovation across our offerings; this can vary from AI-powered selection predictions to improving the Cx shopping experience. This means everything from high-level strategy to operational details.
We're excited about you because…
* You are an operator. You don't hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you're also able to think long-term. You are excited to experience our operation firsthand to inform your strategy.
* You solve problems from first principles. You're excited to think innovatively, and you resist "this is how it's always been done" thinking.
* You're analytical. You possess a sharp analytical mind, and can extract and communicate meaningful insights from data to drive strategic decisions. You are comfortable with SQL and data visualization tools.
* You have 4-6+ years of experience. You've succeeded in high-performing cultures (tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, startups or a related experience).
* You have a completed Bachelor's Degree.
* Must be comfortable regularly exercising discretion and independent judgment in performing job duties, including evaluating options, making informed decisions, and determining appropriate courses of action within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
