The Cost Accounting Manager for a publicly traded company plays a crucial role in overseeing cost accounting functions to ensure compliance with financial regulations, particularly those required for public reporting (e.g., SEC, SOX compliance). Key Responsibilities:
Cost Accounting Oversight:

Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred).
Experience:
7+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Experience with public company reporting and compliance (SEC and SOX).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools (e.g., Hyperion, OneStream).
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance requirements.
Soft Skills:

Management oversight and ongoing training of Accounting Clerks, Finance Supervisor, Expenditure Clerks and Payroll Coordinator. Approve all leave requests and time exceptions in ADP for staff members under his/her prevue.
Management oversight includes but are not limited to: interview, hire and terminate employment, conduct annual employee performance evaluations, implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
Review and approve bi-weekly accounts payable processes, including bank payment processes.
Oversees issuance of P-Cards and is administrator of the P-Card account with the bank.
Provide financial data and information to management representatives and other staff members as directed by the Controller and/or CFO.
Assist the Controller in planning and directing day-to-day Finance department functions.
Assist the Controller in creating/updating SOPs as necessary.
Serves as back up in the daily processes related to check batches for all financial support programs.
Assist with external and internal audits including annual financial statement and payroll related 401K, and workers' comp audits. Provides schedules and support for the preparation of the annual IRS 990.
Support other Finance department functions/areas when needed such back up to the Accounting Manager, FSP and financial assistance programs auditing. Assists in creating IT tickets for Beacon issues.
Oversee the monthly reconciliation of the intercompany financial activity.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, implement best practices, and leverage technology to increase efficiency. Assist the CFO with cash flow planning and treasury functions to ensure adequate liquidity for operations and disaster response activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role, ideally within the nonprofit sector.
Demonstrated expertise with Sage Accounting, Salesforce, and other cloud-based financial systems, along with advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, including grant management, and donor restrictions.

Manage the financial activities of a large book of business (45 or more individual brands), including but not limited to, monthly tracking and invoicing
Provide support to Account Team on all financial needs, including but not limited to, report pulls and organization and review of all financial documents
Have strict adherence to all financial deadlines (internal and external)
Track the execution of client contracts (Purchase Orders/Statements of Work) and provide status updates to finance leadership
Prepare and submit internal paperwork to set up new Purchase Orders/Statements of Work (new and existing clients)

Interface directly with clients on invoicing questions and reports as needed

Weekend & Night Work:
Although your day-to-day work should primarily take place during regular office hours, there will be occasions when you are required to work late into the evening and/or over the weekend. This includes working on the weekends.
