Founded in 2002 by Bridget Cooke, Sister Barbara Raymond and 15 Latina mothers, Adelante Mujeres was created to do something no other nonprofit was doing in the state of Oregon: focus on the needs of marginalized immigrant Latina women.

Adelante Mujer is observing its Tenth Anniversary since its inception in 2009
The first class of eight Adelante Mujer students graduated on December 12, 2014 as medical doctors
30 women were medical students during semester one of 2017 and 8 more were added the second semester
