Position Overview:
San Francisco Bay University (SFBU) invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty to teach the course How to Design Your Life: A Journey Through Personal Epistemology within the General Education Curriculum. This course combines design thinking methodology with epistemological reflection to help students examine how they know what they know, identify the social, cultural, and personal influences shaping their understanding, and design experiments to improve their experiences in key life domains, such as health, relationships, play, growth, career, and finances. This is a part-time, semester-long position physically based in Fremont, CA. The course is delivered in person, so the instructor will be required to teach on-site at the SFBU campus during weekday hours.
Course Description:
This course empowers you to become the architect of your own life by critically examining the beliefs, values, and assumptions that shape your choices. You will reflect deeply on how your worldview is influenced by factors such as family, culture, education, media, and lived experience. Through guided self-inquiry and practical exercises, you'll clarify your understanding of what success, meaning, and purpose look like in your life.
You'll explore eight essential life domains: physical health, mental health, spiritual health, relationships, finances, play, growth, and career. In each domain, you will design and conduct mini experiments to discover what genuinely supports your well-being, growth, and fulfillment.
Applying design thinking principles, including empathy, ideation, prototyping, and iteration, you'll develop strategies to navigate life's challenges with creativity, resilience, and intention. The course culminates in the creation of a personalized, balanced, and evolving four-year life plan that integrates your insights across all life domains.
Throughout the course, you will strengthen critical thinking and analytical skills, enabling you to thoughtfully engage with diverse perspectives and make informed decisions as you intentionally design your future at SFBU and beyond.

This position is open to candidates trained in developing and conducting early phase innovative clinical/translational trials with targeted agents and immunotherapeutics. The Department
The 60-unit graduate program in counseling offers two M.A. degree options: Clinical Mental Health Counseling (prepares students for the MFT and PCC licensures) and School Counseling (prepares students for the PPS credential). The two programs rely heavily on interpersonal skill training and field experience, appropriately balanced with academic and professionally oriented classes. Class size rarely exceeds 24, and there are currently about 80 majors.
The M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sonoma State University is accredited by the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC) for the period of September, 2022 through September, 2030. The School Counseling program was most recently re-accredited by the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing in 2020.

Duties of the Position
To teach graduate level courses within the Master's Degree (M.A.) Counseling Program within the Department of Counseling at Sonoma State University in line with the mission and objectives associated with the School Counseling and/or Clinical Mental Health Counseling tracks.
Professional Qualifications
School Counseling Criteria:
1. Earned Doctorate in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, or Clinical Psychology from a regionally accredited institution preferred. Masters in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, or Clinical Psychology or related field from a regionally accredited institution accepted.
2. California Pupil Personnel Services credential in School Counseling, or equivalent.
3. School counseling experience.
4. Ability to articulate a theoretical orientation about school counseling.

6. Ability to handle and approach students with delicate and difficult counseling issues.

6. Demonstrated ability to supervise practicum and traineeship/internship students if considered for these courses.

Rank and Salary
Full-time is a 15-unit workload per semester. Actual salary is dependent upon the number of units assigned, educational preparation, and availability of funds subject to any CSU system faculty contract salary increases.

Purpose:
The Department of Communication at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic institution, invites applications for Quarterly Lecturer (non-tenure track) positions to teach courses in Communication Studies. Courses may include Comm 1, (Communication in Everyday Life), Comm 2, (Public Speaking), Comm 3 (Digital Storytelling), Comm 4, (Introduction to Communication Research), Comm 12 (Technology and Communication) and Research Methods (qualitative and quantitative), introductory, intermediate and advanced classes in Journalism, or an introductory course in digital filmmaking, an advanced course in screenwriting, an advanced course in cinematography or editing, or an advanced course in film or television studies.
Specific assignments will be made according to the academic qualifications of the individual and programmatic need. Santa Clara University is on the quarter system, and the quarters are 10 weeks long with an 11th week for final examinations.
This is an applicant pool; as such, positions are hired as needed. The successful candidate will teach no more than 2 courses in any quarter and no more than four courses over the fall, winter and spring quarters. The successful candidate should be a fellowship-trained specialist in medical oncology, with a focus on early-phase clinical trials. Additionally, she or he should have a demonstrated track record or significant potential in obtaining research funding, along with a history of publishing in leading scientific or medical journals.
• The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The appointment will be in the Department of Medicine (Medical Oncology) and Stanford Cancer Institute.
The SCI leads an Early Drug Development (EDD) Program focused on Phase I clinical trials in oncology. These are typically studies where first in-human novel cancer therapeutics clinical trials are developed for our patients, incorporating biomarkers in their clinical design. Increasingly, these Phase I studies serve an important role in the oncology drug development ecosystem where not only toxicity, but efficacy data are acquired with the goal of improving the standard of care for oncology patients.
This position is open to candidates trained in developing and conducting early phase innovative clinical/translational trials with targeted agents and immunotherapeutics. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a clinical/translational research, teach graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and clinical fellows, and participate in the Oncology clinics. The SCI and the Division of Oncology benefits from an outstanding scientific and clinical environment, including active collaboration with the basic science departments and other Stanford Institutes. Eligible candidates must have an MD or MD/PhD and be board-certified in medical oncology.
The successful candidate will have experience working with a broad spectrum of investigators and, preferably, a dedicated interest in a particular disease area and/or focus on a therapeutic pathway, or experience with genomics and other biomarkers. Duties of the Position
Teach HIST 252: History of the United States Since 1865, a lower-division survey course examining major political, social, economic, and cultural developments in U.S. history from the end of Reconstruction to the present. Instruction will introduce students to key themes such as industrialization, race and citizenship, immigration, reform movements, war and foreign policy, the expansion of federal power, social inequality, and debates over democracy and national identity.
The successful candidate will design and deliver lectures and discussion-based learning activities, assign and assess written work and examinations, and provide timely and constructive feedback to support student learning. They must also work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings, and will be prepared to join faculty, staff, students, and administrators in the University's shared commitment to ethical inquiry, civic engagement, social responsibility, and global awareness.
