Ed Farm seeks Innovation Instructors, who are capable of being the “on the ground” lead for Code Clubs and/or iCan summer camps offered to K-12 students in Alabama. Instructors are responsible for supporting and facilitating learning experiences, and will work closely with Ed Farm, school districts and community organization's staff to create an engaging and exciting learning experience for all participating students. Instructors should be highly motivated, passionate about education and committed to high-quality learning experiences for all students.
EXPECTATIONS:
Innovation Instructors will be responsible for the following tasks:
Work closely with the Success & Career Coaching Manager and place-based staff to ensure high-quality learning experiences for all students.
Communicate frequently with program leads at all locations via call, text, Slack, email.
Design and facilitate activities to extend the daily learning provided in person and/or virtually by Ed Farm.
Implement the basics of the Swift Playgrounds, Clips, Keynote, iMovie and GarageBand and other iPad apps to support students in creating high-quality artifacts of learning.
Ability to travel to and from designated locations. (Transportation is not provided by Ed Farm.)
Commitment to a full week of training prior to program kick-off and weekly training continued throughout the program.
Lead logistical components such as: learning space coordination, daily attendance, technology coordination, program assessments and core communication processes between Ed Farm and schools or community partners.
Innovation Instructors will be assigned to 3 or more sites and generate 10-15 hours per week. This time includes training, session prep and management, and most importantly, session facilitation. The program term will run on a seasonal basis (Fall, Spring, and Summer). At the conclusion of this program term, Innovation Instructors may have the option to extend to the next program cycle at the discretion of Ed Farm staff.

The Technical Adjunct Instructor provides quality classroom instruction, maintains required scholastic records, and seeks continuous improvement of the curriculum, instruction, and use of resources. The Instructor will be assigned to teach at varied times and locations based on student demand; day, evening, or weekend in Alexander City, Childersburg, Talladega, Prattville, or at other sites in the traditional classroom or via distance learning.
SALARY: Technical adjunct instructors are paid a rate per contact hour or per credit hour. Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment requirements may be compensated on a pro rata basis or cancelled at the discretion of the college. 8. Collaborates with Divisional Chair regarding the recommendation of textbooks and other instructional materials including classroom and laboratory equipment.
9. Collaborates with Divisional Chair regarding the recommendation and development of instructional semester schedule.
10. Collaborates with Divisional Chair regarding the recommendation and development of distance learning courses and/or Web based courses.
11. Maintains appropriate office hours in accordance with college policy.
12. Voluntarily serves on divisional and institutional committees or as recommended by the Dean.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Complies with all policies and guidelines as specified by the Alabama Community College System, Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, and Central Alabama Community College and applicable federal guidelines.
2. Develops and maintains course syllabi, course competencies, assessments, and outlines.
3. Plans, organizes, and instructs all levels of courses.
4. Tracks and records student attendance in accordance with the college's attendance policy, and collaborates with the office of Student Services regarding class roster to ensure accurate student registration reporting.
5. Advises students within their respective program to promote student success, completion of certifications, as well as increase student program completion and/or Board licensure pass rates.
6. Ensures the proper collection Student Learning Outcome (SLO) data under the guidance of the Office for Institutional Effectiveness and in accordance with SACS COC accreditation efforts.
7. Works with Dean of Workforce and Economic Development, Division Chair, and other program faculty to develop, monitor, analyze, and evaluate SLO data in accordance with annual program review and reporting of continuous improvement efforts related to student success, completion of certifications, as well as increase student program completion.
8. Collaborates with Divisional Chair regarding the recommendation of textbooks and other instructional materials including classroom and laboratory equipment.
9. Collaborates with Divisional Chair regarding the recommendation and development of instructional semester schedule.
10. Collaborates with Divisional Chair regarding the recommendation and development of distance learning courses and/or Web based courses.
11. Maintains appropriate office hours in accordance with college policy.
12. Voluntarily serves on divisional and institutional committees or as recommended by the Dean.
13. Actively participates in their own professional development as well as participates in local and statewide professional development activities/events.
14. Assists with the preparation and submission of departmental budgets and requisitions for all purchases in accordance with all college and state policies.
15. Possesses and maintains the ability to travel to all campuses, meetings, and educational offerings as required.
16. Performs other duties as assigned by the Divisional Chair or Dean related to the position.
Qualifications
1. A minimum of an Associate degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited college or institution isrequired.
2. Three (3) years full-time experience as a practitioner in field is required with five (5) years full-time preferred.
3. Effective oral and written communication skillsrequired.
4. Proficiency in English language isrequired.
5. Ability to efficiently utilize technology isrequired.
6. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, with at least 27 semester hours infield (or related field) is preferred.
7. Teaching experience is strongly preferred.
