In the event that a Group Exercise Instructor cannot fulfill a scheduled class, it is his/her responsibility to find a qualified/approved substitute and notify the Group Exercise Director if there is a problem finding a substitute.
Group Exercise Instructors must be dependable and consistent in their class schedules. Anyone committing to teach a class should make all arrangements so that substitutes or cancellations are a rare occurrence.
Attend all required staff meetings as necessary.
Ensure that proper time recording procedures are followed correctly and in a timely manner.
Prepare any incident and/or witness reports as necessary in the event of accidents.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards his/her responsibilities, fellow employees, and members.

Qualifications & Requirements:

JOB SUMMARY: A Pharmaceutical Sciences Faculty member is a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track position in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. The position includes a clinical practice in which the faculty member will precept final year pharmacy students. The LECOM School of Pharmacy is fully accredited by ACPE with a curriculum that is delivered in a four-year traditional or online distance education program, or three-year accelerated education program. The faculty member must be willing to be a part of a dynamic program and supportive of collaboration within the school as well as with the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the School of Dental Medicine.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To promote and preserve the mission of LECOM;
* Teach students at the local campus and in the online distance education pathway;
* Coordinate courses and prepare educational tools (A/V, demonstration models, lectures, lesson plans…etc.) for said courses;
* Prepare demonstrations, lectures, small group discussions, and the selection of suggested and required reading from various sources, and coordinating these educational tools with other faculty members for students in all pathways;
* Develop and institute logistical, instructional, and pedagogical policies for the creation and delivery of online courses.
* Contribute to the planning and administration of the School of Pharmacy;
* Interview prospective candidates for the School of Pharmacy;
* Serve as advisor/mentor to assigned students;
* Serve as advisor to at least one student club;
* Serve on committees as assigned;
* Contribute to the scholarly pursuits of the school by providing, at minimum, one scholarly activity or research project yearly;[EB1]
* Prepare evaluation tools that will aid in the evaluation of students' work product and help to identify students that are discovered to be weak in various areas;
* Participate in faculty and professional development opportunities;
* Participate in accreditation and other administrative functions;
* Must be available for work during the hours assigned, for student instruction;
* Must be able to take direction and receive assignments from the Associate Dean of Pharmacy;
* Works closely and collaboratively with other Faculty and Staff in and on a variety of shared responsibilities, and ensures good communication with other administrative offices;
* Faculty member will contribute and be responsible for overall student success, including, but not limited to, advising and student outcomes;
* Faculty member will contribute directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with Institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction;
* Faculty member will participate in scholarly activity so to enrich and broaden the student learning experience;
* Faculty member will commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community, including, but not limited to, serving on Boards, participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach;

HOURS, COMPENSATION, LOCATION:
We are looking for you to teach 1-2 classes per week - mostly in the evenings and possibly on weekends. DivaDance brings our classes into existing facilities - we do not have our own physical location. You can expect to teach at our studios Sarasota and should have reliable transportation to get there for classes!
Compensation starts at $30 per class.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
You must have experience teaching and choreographing for adults. Bonus points for former dance team/drill team/cheerleaders. Our application process will require that you submit a video of your original choreography.

Part-time Description
Under the guidance of the Program Director, the Specialty Program Instructor teaches the specialty class/program. The instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and documenting each lesson.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Organizes, plans, and executes all activities for enrolled children.
Prepare for special program presentations.
Monitors the area at all times to ensure safety, and immediately makes changes as necessary.
Provides a positive environment for all participants, and actively encourages participation to ensure growth and development.
Exemplifies appropriate behavior and is a role model for participants; actively listens to all children and shows patience, understanding, and respect for others.
Instructs and guides participants through the rules of the program and ensures adherence; disciplines children within established guidelines of the YMCA and parent, and only when appropriate.
Exercises effective problem solving techniques, tackles issues directly and makes timely decisions based upon logical conclusions of factual information
Ensures that the Association provides its services with sensitivity to the cultural differences that are present among the Association's employees, clients, members, and volunteers
Immediately reports all unusual incidents or accidents to the Program Director, and fills out all applicable and necessary reports.
Records daily attendance and maintains accurate and complete records.
Ensures the classroom is neat, orderly and free of all safety impediments.
Develops and fosters interpersonal relationships between participants, and is pro-active creating an environment of cooperation, friendliness, and helpfulness towards staff and customers.
Develops and maintains age-appropriate activities.
Ensures all necessary supplies are on hand and well maintained at all times.
Attend scheduled staff meetings.
Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience with specialty program offering
Prior experience working with children

Able to maintain confidentiality
Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements as well as meet the Association's policies on background screening
CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
CPR and First Aid Certifications required
Completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens Training
Completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class
Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols
Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor

Position Overview:
As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club training team, the Instructor trains and onboards our club members through virtual classroom and on-the-water training. We are looking for customer-focused and friendly US Coast Guard Captains. This position is part-time with flexible hours and requires availability on weekdays and weekends as needed.

Essential Functions:
Greet and welcome new members
Organize and effectively conduct member classroom and on the water training on various skill, policy, and compliance areas
Identify areas in which additional training is required and/or beneficial
Record training certifications in Reservation system
Professional appearance and uniform required
Handle minor member mishaps or incidents while maintaining friendly disposition
Red Carpet level of treatment to members and guests
Speak with potential members about the Club

Required Qualifications:
US Coast Guard Captains License
Pass a background check and drug screen
Valid driver's license and good driving record
Boating experience in or around boats

Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
Maintain a cooperative, team attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees

Previous instructor experience is highly desirable
Working Conditions:
Moving from docks to boats and vice versa, unstable & wet surfaces. Large drops (~4ft) down to vessels & back up to dock.
Stand for long periods of time
Outside elements workplace (Heat, Rain, Cold, general extreme weather elements)
Work in a marina setting on docks that may be fixed or floating
Work near and on the water
Safely move on, off and in vessels during various tide and weather conditions
The anticipated pay range for this position is $19/hr.
