Position Overview
The Part-Time Continuing Education Instructor teaches and works with Recreation and Leisure and/or Continuing Workforce development courses.
What you will be doing
* Prepares and distributes course outline / syllabi to students
* Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
* Maintains accurate attendance records
* Develops teaching and learning strategies that optimize student performance
* Develops curriculum
* Participates in textbook and technology committees
* Complies with department and College policies and procedures
* Works closely with Chairperson or designee to provide substitute instruction as needed
* Assists with other services and activities such as: recruitment, retention and other functions as needed
* Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
* Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
* Prior experience teaching adult learners
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work well with students, staff, and faculty
* Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
Preferences
* Ability to teach at other campus locations
Additional Requirements
The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
