The unit will also accommodate occasional pediatric medical-surgical overflow patients as capacity allows. * The Pediatric PCU cares for chronic pediatric patients, post-operative patients requiring cardiac monitoring, and patients who need more frequent respiratory interventions. Additionally, the unit serves as a key transition area for patients stepping down from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to medical-surgical care, ensuring continuity of care and safety during recovery. * Nurse-to-patient ratios are maintained at 3:1, with the flexibility to adjust to 2:1 based on individual patient acuity and care requirements, supporting high-quality, family-centered care and optimal patient outcomes. * The Pediatric PCU at AdventHealth for Children is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a healing environment, supporting both patients and families through complex and transitional phases of pediatric illness and recovery. The role you'll contribute: * Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. * Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. * Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions. * Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance. * Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork. * *Terms: 24 month Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation * Sign-on Eligibility: Applicable experience required.
