AFCOM history

In contrast, the Algerian government was unable to capitalize on Algeria’s victory in the 1990 Cup of Nations, as fans celebrated the team’s triumph in Algiers by chanting their support for the opposition Islamic Salvation Front.

Brad Carney founded Afcom in 1994, after moving to Canada from South Africa.

The company was incorporated in 1995.

In winning the 1996 tournament at home, South Africa’s racially mixed team seemed to symbolize football’s power to bridge the gaping social and economic inequalities left by apartheid.

In 2002 a new trophy called the Cup of Nations was introduced.

FlexiBake began to see some real growth and in 2004 Mandy joined the company to begin looking after accounts.

During the next few years Brad and his team set about developing FlexiBake Version 2, a full-featured ERP system which was ultimately released in December 2005.

In 2006 FlexiBake hired the first members of the sales and account management team.

The first Asian Cup took place in Hong Kong and was contested by the 12 founding members of the AFC. The event was thereafter held in various Asian countries every four years, with an exception in 2007 when the quadrennial cycle was moved forward one year.

By 2012 FlexiBake accounted for the majority of the business conducted by Afcom and the decision was made to spin the FlexiBake software into its own corporation, FlexiBake Ltd.

In 2013 FlexiBake was one of the first in our niche to release a Cloud version, allowing users to work anywhere, any time, and on any device.

In mid-2014 FlexiBake officially employs its first mascots – Bring your pet to work!

2015 also saw the team complete development of, and officially release, FlexiBake’s latest offering, FlexiBakeOnline, the Online Ordering Portal.
