    Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic is accountable for routine preventative maintenance, impromptu repair, troubleshooting, special rebuild projects and recording data in the emaintenance systems pertaining to tasks performed. Verbal and written work is clear. by communicating consistently with management and provides regular project updates to management Hierarchical Placement Reports to: Shop Manager Direct Reports: None Accountabilities Ensures all equipment assigned is serviced and safe for operation such as trucks (pickup, dump, fertilizer, bulk, water, semis), tractors, pilers, sorters, sizers, scoopers, conveyors, gear boxes, sizers/dirt eliminators, and transportation fleet to maintain productivity and asset lifecycle. Types of repairs include but not limited to, routine oil/fluid and tire changes, brake repair and replacements, suspension repair and replacement, fabrication, drivetrains & transmission rebuild including electrical repairs on components of power distribution systems. The work requires use of equipment manuals, web-based research, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling provided by Wysocki Family Farms Orders parts as needed with approval of the shop manager. Proactively trouble shoots equipment to prevent safety hazards or breakdowns in the environment. Disassembles and assembles components according to manufacturer's specifications. Communicates regularly with team and supervisor to ensure efficient operations. Performs DOT maintenance inspections. Uses tools within the scope of their safe intended use. Examples of equipment and tools (but not limited to) tractors, harvester, skid steer, sprayer, backhoe, bulldozer, bulk truck, forklift, chainsaw, pneumatic tools, etc Diagnoses equipment using tools such as but not limited to scanners, gauges and instruments. Maintains accurate and timely data in emaintenance including opening, completing all fields required and properly saving and closing work orders to track work completed on each piece of equipment. Ensures cleanliness of shop and work area to eliminate reduce any safety hazards. Adheres to all safety and general company policies and procedures and informs supervisors about concerns such as but not limited to faulty equipment design, and unsafe working conditions. Maintains a strong knowledge base on the safe and efficient use of agricultural equipment, agricultural technology and agronomic application best practices. Physical Activities/Demands: This position is approximately 15% sedentary, involving sitting for extended periods during operation of equipment. The remaining balance of this position, approximately 85% requires actively working in/around indoor and outdoor manufacturing and agricultural environments. This position requires the ability to: ascend/descend various types of ladders, stairs and equipment; move oneself into different positions in various environments (sometimes tight and confined); bend, stoop, squat and kneel: reach for and lift objects above the shoulder; walk distances on firm, uneven and soft terrain; lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally more with the discretion of team lift; communicate with others via voice, listening and verbal response; read and write to receive instruction, document work and heed safety warnings; repeat motions with the wrists, hands and fingers; operate machinery, power tools, vehicles and heavy equipment; visually inspect work in near/distant scenarios including need for peripheral vision and depth perception, sit for extended periods of time. Environmental Conditions: Physical activities may be performed in both indoor (office/shop/production areas) and outdoor environments (fields/storage areas) which could include…low and high temperatures; precipitation and wind; noisy environments; potential exposure to chemicals/pesticides; dusty or poorly ventilated environments; darkness/low light. Hours: * PM Shift - 4:00pm to 4:00am (2A) * 12 hour shifts, 3 days on, 4 days off rotation (NOT A SWING SHIFT) * Occasional overtime as needed Principle Duties & Responsibilities * Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements. * Perform regular scheduled Preventive Maintenance on printing and finishing machines, support equipment, auxiliary components, and general building maintenance. * Respond to reactive/unscheduled requests of production equipment focusing on minimizing down time by diagnosing problems, replacing, repairing parts, testing, and making adjustments or calibrations. * Use electrical test instruments including multimeter, amp meter, scope meter, and thermal imager to troubleshoot/repair equipment. * Disassemble machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts. * Create and complete assigned work orders generated by the CMMS program. * Document all machine malfunctions to track machine efficiency. * Interpret electrical print/schematics, including symbol ID location, PLC card I/O controls, within various types of prints associated with North American, European, and Asian manufacturers. * Contribute to creation of process documentation and quality work instruction. * Participate in Continuous Improvement root cause analysis initiatives to increase equipment platform performance. * Evaluate and provide feedback to optimize preventative maintenance plans. * Follow safety policy and procedures to include, but not limited to, lock out-tag-out. * May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. * Properly dispose of waste ink, spent solvents, and other designated waste according to hazardous waste handling guidelines Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required * Requires eight (8) years of electro-mechanical experience, or four (4) years of electro-mechanical experience with an associate degree in electro-mechanical technology or similar. * Work cohesively with team members to achieve departmental goals. * Ability to lead, develop, and support small teams. * Manage and complete equipment related projects on time. * Possess excellent electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Experienced in a manufacturing/production environment. * Support leadership in the event of absence. * Must be able to communicate and work effectively within maintenance team and with internal customers. * Must be familiar with AC and DC circuits, low voltage through 480v three phase power. * Office software and computer navigation skills. * Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action. * Must be able to resolve problems and make effective decisions under pressure. * Ability to work independently or as a member of a team. * Ability to give, receive and analyze information. * Ability to meet deadlines. May be required to work some overtime. * Knowledge of and the ability to speak the English language fluently. * Ability to read, comprehend, and follow implicit and explicit written and oral instructions. * Ability to use hands for 100% of work time (e.g. wrenches, screw drivers, drills, etc.); and reach above shoulders for 25% of work time. * Ability to: stand and walk for 75% of work time; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for 25% of work time. * Ability to lift up to 25 pounds or less 30% of work time, up to 50 pounds or less 15% of work time and up to 75 pounds or less 15% of work time. * Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less, or 20 feet or more and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. * May lift up to 100 pounds.
