Required Qualifications:

California Education Specialist Teaching Credential

Teaching experience in urban K-12 schools
Professional leadership experience with coordination of program initiatives and projects

Duties:
Coordinate the Education Specialist Credential Program, including admissions, advisement, coursework, fieldwork, and assessment of candidates.
Attend regular meetings at the department, college, regional and state level related to credential program
Teach courses and/or supervise credential candidates in the subject areas of: Assessment and instruction for multi-lingual learners with disabilities; Culturally Responsive education; Inclusive Practices; Advocacy for students and families; Disability studies. [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.]
Participate in and attend faculty meetings in the Advanced Studies in Education and Counseling Department and Education Specialist Credential Program

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide secondary (selective) prevention services using evidence-based curriculum-based drug prevention education to project participants.
Provide universal prevention activities including community outreach, information dissemination, and presentations on alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD) to youth and their family members.
Screen and assess eligible participants.
Provide case management.
Provide referrals to other support services.
Qualifications:
An associate's degree or the equivalent (60 hours of college credit) is required. A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, criminal justice, or related behavioral science field is preferred.
At least 6 months to 1 year of work experience providing substance abuse prevention/intervention services to adolescents and/or adults is preferred, but not required.
Experience providing curriculum-based education is preferred, but not required.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) skills are a plus, but not required.

A Prevention Education Specialist is responsible for developing and/or delivering research-based curriculum with fidelity through youth and adult planned duplication sessions; trainings; and multi-session, psycho-education groups regarding alcohol and drug use, chemical dependency and other related topics relevant to youth, families and those who work with youth. PE Specialists are responsible for promoting/marketing the Center's prevention services. This position also provides outreach via information dissemination on the full array of collaboration services provided by The Center for Youth. About the Position
As a member of an interdisciplinary team in Western Washington University's Speech and Hearing Clinics, provides professional audiology services to individuals with communicative disabilities such as hearing loss or impairments, auditory processing, and aural rehabilitation. Develops habilitation or rehabilitation programs for individuals and monitors/evaluates their progress. Under general supervision, educate, prepare, and supervise audiology graduate students in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences in the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders, and in the development of related interpersonal and professional/technical skills. Provide direct services to patients, demonstrating clinical skills for undergraduate and graduate CSD students.
The position helps fulfill the mission of the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences by providing the highest quality student-centered learning environment where undergraduate and graduate students develop the knowledge, clinical skills, and life-long learning skills to prepare them for professional careers and advanced study in speech-language pathology and audiology.
Required Qualifications
A master's degree in audiology;
a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA);
License to practice audiology and dispense hearing aids from the state of Washington;
And, two years of experience as an audiologist, including experience with both diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
