Founded in 1906, Aim Transportation Solutions has been providing comprehensive trucking, fleet management, maintenance, and logistics services for over 115 years.
In 1906, Aim Chairman & CEO Tom Fleming’s grandfather, J.V. McNicholas, geared up the horse and buggy and began hauling meat and luggage from the rail yards in Youngstown, OH. A few years later, the horse-and-buggy operation grew into a lucrative hauling business.
After deregulation in 1980, McNicholas Transportation branched into leasing trucks.
In 1982, Tom Fleming purchased Aim NationaLease and moved the company to 1500 Trumbull Ave, in Girard, OH, where Aim’s headquarters still stand today.
John Reed’s experience in the transportation industry began in 1983 when he joined a small software company and wrote one of the first integrated transportation packages.
Dave Gurska started his career in 1993 as a salesman for Aim NationaLease and was eventually promoted to Regional Vice President.
In 1993, he joined Aim as a programmer and tech specialist.
He began his career with Aim in 1996 as a District Manager and has had a series of promotions during his tenure at Aim.
In January of 2003, he was promoted to Vice President and then to his current role as Chief Information Officer.
In 2005, Geoff joined Aim full-time.
David is an alumni of Penn State - Behrend in Erie, PA and in 2006 was inducted in to their Athletic Hall of Fame for his achievements on the basketball court.
Patty Durkin began her career with Aim as a human resource manager in 2006.
In 2007 Scott became Aim's Regional Operations Coordinator in the Integrated Logistics area.
In 2010 he was promoted again, this time to the position of Vice President of Business Development for Aim Integrated Logistics, the logistics division of Aim NationaLease.
She became Vice President of Human Resources in 2010 when Aim continued to grow as a company.
In early 2013 Scott saw an opportunity to expand Aim’s offerings through a new division.
In early 2019 Scott was named Co-President of Aim where he assumes the role of leadership over all Aim companies, alongside his father Tom and brother Geoffrey.
In early 2019 Geoffrey Fleming was named Co-President of Aim Transportation Solutions, overseeing the company’s core goal of increasing efficiency and controlling costs for customers through transportation service offerings.
