The candidate will receive limited supervision with detailed instructions for routine work, new activities or special assignments. May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower-level employees. What you'll get to do: + Fabricate composite components and/or tools, which may include, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, composite trimming, finishing, core fabrication, and composite bonding processes + Performing part-fitting operations such as filing, burring, crimping, trimming, gromet installation, drilling, countersinking and reaming. + Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures + Measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. + Modifying incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate engineering changes to structure. + Monitoring and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. + Troubleshoot and solve unique problems through collaboration with engineers and other technicians. + Operate autoclave and curing ovens to complete bonding cycles + Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor. + Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness. By executing maintenance procedures in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company standards, you are ensuring safe and reliable flights. Job Responsibilities Will perform tasks necessary to comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and accept the responsibility for work performed by themselves and/or in conjunction with others and sign for same on the Company's approved forms. Keep work areas clean. Return all equipment and tools to assigned areas. A&P Technicians will report all inoperative or faulty equipment to the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Mechanic in charge. Work will consist of and include any and all phases of repair and maintenance of aircraft with the aid of the employee's own tools, specialty tools provided by the Company, the use of test equipment, and Company-supplied technical manuals. In certain cases, and A&P Technician may be authorized to perform required inspection items and assist in Company training programs. Will at the commencement of each repair or inspection initiate the proper documentation. Parts tags will include a complete description of the discrepancy on all removed parts. Determine if the work to be performed is a Required Inspection Item. Verifying, through proper documentation, that any part installed on any aircraft or component is approved for that aircraft or component and has been visually inspected and is free of damage or contamination. Assure that hangar workshops and other areas assigned are maintained in an orderly manner. Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs. Full-time Description The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for providing professional aircraft maintenance and repairs while maintaining all appropriate safety and regulatory standards. This position also provides ground support at the Lexington, KY Bluegrass Airport hangar and terminal. Candidate must be a licensed A&P. Requirements • Receive aircraft maintenance and repair requests • Inspect, diagnose and assess the feasibility of maintenance and repair issues • Perform maintenance/repairs and conduct/observe tests and system checks • Communicate with pilots and vendors for the purpose of exchanging technical information • Maintain logbooks and other records to provide required documentation of work • Work with Maintenance Manager to establish appropriate lead times for maintenance/repairs • Approve and return aircraft to service after maintenance/repairs • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of parts, tools and service equipment • Maintain current service manuals, service bulletins, A/D lists, wiring diagrams, etc. • Maintain ground support equipment • Other duties as assigned include, but are not limited to: • Pulling aircraft in and out of the hangar • Database updates • Parts management and inventory • Cleaning hangar, facility, hangar office • Ensuring that aircraft are trip ready • Snow removal and/or mowing as needed • Cleaning aircraft exterior

The CBP Aircraft Mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. Principal Accountabilities: Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Perform daily, flight line and hangar maintenance on all assigned aircraft. Perform inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting and fault isolation on aircraft systems. Furnish own hand tools to perform maintenance of aircraft (necessary special tools and test equipment will be furnished by Customs). May occasionally lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. May be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload schedules on assigned projects. Minimum Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance. Note: US Citizenship required to obtain clearance. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must hold a current airframe and power plant mechanic (A&P) certificate. Must be competent and knowledgeable in the repair and maintenance of airframes, hydraulics, fuel systems, and aircraft engines. Requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair. Must possess a working knowledge of military and general aviation aircraft airframe and engine logbooks. Physical Requirements/Working Environment: Be physically able to perform aircraft mechanic duties. Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit. TASK DESCRIPTION: Aircraft Mechanic I (23021): Aircraft Mechanics I must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions. Makes repairs to aircraft and follows direction of higher graded workers. The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti- icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Work involves replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Job duties require that this mechanic adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Familiarity and ability to use Microsoft Office. Familiarity and ability to use military tech manuals. Familiarity and ability to use Standard Army Management Information Systems i.e. ULLS-A (E). BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a graduate of one of the following Military Aviation Powertrain and/or General Repair, Hydraulic, Engine, Avionics and Sheet Metal Qualification Courses or civilian equivalent. At least two years of experience on military rotorcraft. Must be able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift schedule as required.
