Technical Functions
Service aircraft, including but not limited to, mechanical work involved in the dismantling, disassembly, overhauling, repairing, fabricating, assembling, welding, checking, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, installing, and erecting all parts of airplanes required to maintain airworthiness of aircraft and their components
Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections
Certify for the quality of own workmanship (i.e., that it is in accordance with the proper maintenance manuals and references)
Connect/remove ground power and ground start units
Push out/tow aircraft and perform guideman functions
AMT Work Conditions - General Functions
Perform inspections in extreme environmental conditions, including extreme heat (over 100° Fahrenheit), extreme cold (below 32° Fahrenheit), rain, sleet, wind, and snow
Perform duties that require general safety awareness (e.g., when working in an area with moving vehicles)
Perform duties that require use of personal protective equipment (e.g., wearing fall protection while working at heights, wearing respirators while working around fumes and vapors)

Sign mechanical flight releases and/or airworthiness releases
Maintain knowledge of and use manuals, supply/parts catalogs, minimum equipment lists, and general maintenance manuals

Perform Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks

High School diploma or GED
Valid driver's license
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language or language native to geographical location.
Airframe and Power Plant License required.

Must be willing to work extra hours when there are operational needs, such as weather delays.
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off.
Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.
Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA).
Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.

Job Summary

Your activities
Operate and drive all types of GSE equipment - motorized and non-motorized.
Perform and show competence in preventive maintenance per established schedules on all ground support equipment
Provide trouble-shooting and diagnostic assessment of ground support equipment as required
Hydraulic knowledge or basics necessary. Must be willing to learn hydraulic systems
Airport deicing training will be required. Reporting to work during snow, Ice and cold weather required. Overtime is necessary during weather emergencies
Will be working outside in all weather conditions year-round
Remove malfunctioning ground support equipment from service and ensure GSE is not returned to service until malfunction has been accurately diagnosed and repaired
Respond to emergency service calls as well as accidents involving ground support equipment
Complete all maintenance/repair documentation consistent with carrier, station, airport authority, municipal, state, federal and SP requirements
Comply with all federal, provincial, municipal, airport authority and carrier security requirements
Will retain a motor vehicle driver's license for both air side / non airside in good standing at all times
Follow all safety guidelines set out by WCB, EPA, WHIMIS, and SP management
Keep GSE shop and its equipment always clean and serviceable, report all deficiencies to management
Fuel equipment as necessary with full regard for all safety and environmental requirements
Will liaison with Ramp management, customers and staff in a professional manner when needed
Work as a self-starter and report to shop leads daily

Department Overview
The workers of Electric Transmission and Distribution (T&D) ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric T&D is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.
Our Maintenance Crew is tasked with the Maintenance and/or restoration of high voltage and electrical facilities within PG&E's system. They are our primary crews used for emergency restoration and are the first for call-outs.
Our General Construction (GC) Department is comprised of approximately 700 employees, tasked with the Construction and Maintenance of high voltage electrical facilities within PG&E's system. It is a mobile work force that may travel throughout PG&E's service territory to perform its work.
Position Summary
All Journey Lineworker classifications and the associated line of progression are represented by IBEW Local 1245.
This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.
We are hiring qualified Journey Lineworkers to work throughout our service territory in Distribution and Transmission, Division and General Construction positions, as well as Compliance Inspectors. Open positions are predominantly in California's Central Valley and Bay Area, however additional locations and classifications could become available at any time based on changing business needs. Please note that Transmission T-200 positions require a 2-year commitment to the Transmission Department per LOA 22-18 and T-200 and T-300 positions in De Anza, Peninsula, San Francisco and San Jose require a 3-year commitment per LOA 22-06.
This position may be subject to Joint Apprentice Training Committee (JATC) review and approval. Provisional hires will be required to participate in targeted training to achieve journey-level knowledge of Journey Lineworker roles and responsibilities.
Journey Lineworkers are responsible for building and maintaining electric power systems and for restoring electric service to commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential customers. They are expected to test, frame and set poles; climb poles, work in confined spaces; splice and terminate cables. Our Lineworkers will have had successfully completed a federal or state sanctioned apprenticeship (with approved supporting documentation) and/or IBEW sponsored line worker apprenticeship. Work is predominantly outdoors and in all weather conditions. Lineworkers must be able to drive safely, work extended hours; travel/transfer to new headquarter upon request at any time (General Construction Positions), and wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment.
Compliance Inspectors conduct visual inspections of electric poles and enclosures by driving and or walking the electric distribution system to identify hazards that impact safety, company liability and / or asset life, pursuant to General Order 165. Various diagnostic tests are performed during detail inspections such and infrared imaging, pole shell testing and conductor height measurements. The individual will perform, repair work on poles and substructures as required.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This position is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates and increases. The starting wage rate for this position is $73.78 per hour. This wage rate is specific to the locality of the job. Minimum Education and Experience Required:
