Al Masaood company history timeline
The Group partnered with British company John Brown Engineering in 1969 to bring the first gas turbine to Abu Dhabi and the Middle East, and later with Weir Westgarth to construct the first desalination plant in the UAE.
From it's inception, the Al Masaood Group have been involved in the commercial development of Abu Dhabi, with the late H.E.Ahmed Al Masaood becoming the first president of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and the company being the first registered by Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce in 1970.
Since 1972, the Al Masaood Power Division has continuously achieved success, reaching one important milestone after another, setting industry standards and leading the way in the UAE, and thereafter in the Kingdom of Bahrain also.
1974 BRIDGESTONE DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT Al Masaood is named as the official authorised distributor of Bridgestone Tyres in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain & Madinat Zayed.
1978 AL MASAOOD BERGUM COMPANY ESTABLISHMENT Al Masaood Bergum (AMB) is established under the umbrella of Al Masaood Group to deliver high quality modular/prefabricated building solutions.
1981 UD TRUCKS DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT Al Masaood signs official distributor agreement for UD Trucks in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region.
1982 MTU DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT IN THE UAE Al Masaood and MTU Friedrichshafen sign the official distributor agreement for the UAE.
1984 NISSAN DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT Al Masaood begins distributing Nissan cars in Abu Dhabi.
Al Masaood introduces Datsun cars for the first time in Abu Dhabi before the auto brand becomes ‘Nissan’ in 1986.
He began his career in the UK with Price Waterhouse as an auditor and tax consultant before moving into industry in 1990.
1994 STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH OSHKOSH Al Masaood enters into strategic new partnership with Oshkosh in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region.
Ziad Abou Nasr joined the Al Masaood Private Office in September 2000, managing a portfolio of assets comprising real estate, publicly listed securities and private equity.
He has been a frequent visitor to the UAE since 2002.
2004 RENAULT DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT Al Masaood Automobiles is appointed as the authorised distributor of Renault in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain.
David was first introduced to Al Masaood through a related family private office which he has advised since 2008 in relation to United States real property and other asset management matters.
2013 NISSAN GLOBAL AWARD Al Masaood Automobiles receives the Nissan Global Award from Nissan Motor Company LTD, Japan for its remarkable sales performance, outstanding increase in market share and noteworthy customer care.
He became a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Charter Holder in 2013 and is a member of the CFA Society of South Florida and the CFA Society Emirates.
From January 2017 he has been part of the Chairman’s appointed team tasked with restructuring the Al Masaood Group.
In 2017, he established his own consultancy Company in Miami and was appointed as a non-executive member of the ExCo.
