Day (United States of America) Job Summary: Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Program Administration * In collaboration with the trauma Medical Director, is responsible for all aspects of preparation of trauma program for (re)verification by the American College of Surgeons and/or (re)designation by the State of Georgia Department of Public Health: Office of EMS and Trauma * Manages the Trauma Service Staff including : Trauma Outreach Coordinator, Trauma Nurse Coordinator, Trauma Registrar/Data Abstractor(s), Performance Improvement Coordinator * Works cooperatively with the Hospital Administration and the WMG to ensure a smooth functioning and financially viable service * Plans and facilitates Trauma Committee meetings and activities * In collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Committee, sets goals for improving quality metrics * Responsible for creation, development and monitoring of budget * Coordinates the development and deployment of trauma specific protocols and guidelines and monitors adherence and effectiveness of the protocols. * Responsible for the creation of policies, procedures and guidelines for care of the injured patient * Promotes and contributes to the positive working environment within Trauma Services * Completes requisite reports to the State Office of EMS and Trauma and The Georgia Trauma Commission per contractual obligation. * Serves as liaison to Regional, State and National trauma organizations to improve access to and delivery of trauma care * Serves as liaison to all clinical and ancillary departments within the hospital to ensure world class trauma care delivery * Serves as subject matter expert and liaison with the WellStar Health System regarding trauma care delivery * Interfaces with Quality Department regarding quality initiatives and Joint Commission requirements Clinical Activities: * Attends Trauma Activations to serve as a resource person to enhance trauma team performance * Works collaboratively with the Trauma Team to assure coverage for time sensitive responsibilities/duties * Serves as a resource to patients and families as needed to ensure optimal trauma care provision to our patients * Attends Multidisciplinary Rounds with Trauma Team * Rounds on trauma units to ensure resources are available to provide world class trauma care Trauma Registry: * Manages Trauma Registrar/Data Abstractor(s) * Oversees the timely completion, accuracy, and reporting of the Trauma Registry * Works on behalf of WellStar Kennestone Hospital with state organizations toward the development of a Sate Trauma Registry * Maintains the highest level of trauma registry validity to assure accurate program profiling, TQIP, State and internal reports using the established data validation process for the Trauma Registry Performance Improvement: * Manages Trauma Nurse Coordinator(s) and Perfromance Improvement Coordinator(s) * Coordinates and leads Trauma Committee meetings and prepares monthly statistical reports for committee * Evaluates quality assurance filters as defined by the American College of Surgeons, State designated standards and internal filters, for process and care improvement opportunities * Ensures improved pre-hospital care of injured patients through coordination of efforts with local EMS, EMS Coordinator and state Trauma Centers * Monitors TQIP reports for opportunities for improving trauma care within the Trauma Center, Region and State * Works in conjunction with the Trauma Nurse Coordinator to review, monitor and identify PI opportunities at the system and provider levels. Escalates cases as appropriate for peer review. Professional / Public Education/Outreach and Research: * Manages the Trauma Outreach Coordinator(s) * Supports the Trauma Outreach Coordinators efforts related to professional and community education and injury prevention programs * Participates in the Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum Coarse (TNCC) program sponsored by the hospital/System * Participates in the Advanced Trauma Life Support program sponsored by the hospital/System * Participates in the Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses program sponsored by the hospital/System * Participates in other professional education courses in trauma and critical care that may be conducted or sponsored by the hospital/System * Participates in regional trauma education and outreach efforts * (Level I and II) Participates in Trauma Program Research projects and works with nursing staff to oversee and develop nursing based trauma research project if indicated. Assist the Director of Respiratory Care Services with all aspects of the Clinical Operations of the department including but not limited to:
Budget preparation
Long and Short term planning and implementation of process improvement projects, attendance and participation in multidisciplinary teams
Staff development, medication administration, program development
Initiation of Strategic plan, Performance Improvement monitoring
Customer service initiatives, Maintaining positive relationships within the department and with medical staff, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Involved in Long Term and Short Term Planning
Analyzes Data to determine performance improvement opportunities
Evaluates current state and looks for opportunities for department growth and new innovative procedures and activities.
Supports the budget process, providing information relative to capital, operating, and staffing needs.
Completes assessment of department needs and initiates a plan to address those needs
Encourage innovation and process change to improve patient care and customer satisfaction
Leads and participates on department and hospital wide committees and groups to enhance delivery of services and customer service initiatives. Demonstrates project management skills necessary to multi-task and finalize projects and initiatives.
Provides follow-up to customer service complaints, including patient/customer interview, staff interview and completion of required documentation and reporting.
Supports hospital and departmental mission and vision.
Provides leadership in the advancement of Respiratory Care and its staff
Assures staff schedules are maintained and staffing levels are adjusted as necessary to achieve desired productivity levels.
Maintains adherence to budget.
Able to explain variances and make adjustments to meet goals.
Acts as an example to respiratory care staff in the area of professionalism and commitment to the respiratory care profession and the hospital.
Supports activities which promote the recognition and growth of respiratory care services within the hospital and community. Participates in and encourages recognition of staff and activities which promote the profession of respiratory care
Promote and Enhance Professional Growth and Development
Assists in the development of department educational program and assuring its completion
Participates in the disciplinary process including counseling, development of action plans and progressive discipline.
Maintains a relationship with outside entities involved in the development of staff including state and national respiratory care organizations and hospital associated groups.
Assures the delivery of quality care in an efficient and safe manner
Executes project management for all hospital respiratory, laboratories, and other regulatory body requirements.
Assists in the selection of equipment, supplies, staffing models, modalities, etc.
Assists in the selection and monitoring of department performance improvement initiatives
Works with quality and safety to address hospital and department issues for which respiratory care is involved.
Assists in the development, review and modification of department policies and procedures.
Monitors the activities and progress of assigned staff.
Assumes responsibility for all other duties assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Oversee performance of safe and effective hemodialysis following all applicable guidelines.

Scope of Role:
Supervises a single program or unit within a program, typically supporting 4-8 individuals in residential settings or 10-15 individuals in periodic, vocational or day programs. Duties are split between the provision of direct support, professional or program activities and supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Direct Support Professionals
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the program including delivery of supports, implementation of person-centered plans, health care, advocacy, customer engagement, regulatory compliance and when applicable, oversight of the physical environment.
Generally works 8 to 16 flexible hours per week in a supervisory capacity; and provides direct support for the remaining hours.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.
Services and Supports:
Direct Support: Works regularly scheduled shifts as a direct support professional (see DSP position description).
Records: Documents as required; reviews individual records, billing and other program documentation routinely for accuracy and completion on a daily basis; maintains
Program Planning: Assists the Program Director in development of individual program plans; trains and monitors implementation of plans each day across all shifts.
Team Meetings: Attends and assists with routine progress meetings.
Compliance: Assists the Program Director in maintaining licensing compliance for program services and supports; implements Sevita compliance plan; manages individual rights implementation.
Management of Individuals' Assets: When assigned, assures safety of individual's funds and property; monitors spending and reconciles individual's financial accounts monthly.
Incidents: Completes or assists DSPs in documenting incident reports; submits initial incident reports to the Program Director.
Billing and Utilization: Compiles or accumulates census or attendance information; reviews data and attests to accuracy; submits accurate data to the Program Director or appropriate billing authority.
Health Care:
General Health Care: Monitors health of persons being served; documents; communicates with medical professionals as appropriate; implements preventive strategies to limit illness and serious incidents; reviews and monitors documentation across all shifts.
Appointments: When applicable, schedules or assists in scheduling health care appointments; may accompany individuals to appointments; may assist with communication; documents visits; oversees follow through of orders; communicates results as appropriate with families, guardians, case managers, day programs or others.
Medications: When applicable, accurately administers or supports self-administration of medication and documents delivery of medications and treatments; reviews all other medication documentation for accuracy and completeness, daily or weekly as required; reviews medication errors with employees; communicates medication changes and provides training across all shifts; maintains appropriate security of medications and supplies.
Medical Supplies and Equipment: Purchases and maintains medical supplies and equipment in consultation with Program Director; communicates with employees and may assist with training on proper use.
Dietary planning: Develops menus based on diets, preferences, and occasions, and with the exception of some in-home services, purchases or oversees purchasing of food and supplies in accordance with planned menus and individual choice or need; directs and monitors food service, consistent with individual plans.
Stakeholder Relations:
Communications: Maintains productive and professional relations with individuals, families, case managers and other stakeholders.
Customer Service: Implements Sevita Customer Service Standards; trains DSPs in delivery.
Personnel:
Recruitment and Hiring: As needed, assists with recruitment; interviews and hires direct support professionals in consultation with the Area Director and Talent Acquisitions teams.
Employee Scheduling: Populates and maintains schedule to assure that all shifts are covered, and overtime is minimized.
Training: Assists with onboarding and delivers orientation and ongoing training concerning the individuals served, program plans, policies, procedures and physical environment; Verifies training records are accessible in the home and are completed by all staff on the schedule.
Evaluation: Prepares and conducts annual evaluations for Direct Support Professionals, in consultation with the Program Director.
Discipline and Termination: Coaches employees as needed, correcting or directing employee behavior where required; may remove employees in the event of emergency; may recommend and participate in decisions regarding termination; consults with the Program Director on all matters of discipline.
Employee Safety: Responsible for employee safety and workers' compensation within the program; implements and monitors compliance with safety standards.
Management: May assist with or lead monthly program meetings for direct support professionals; documents monthly meeting agenda and attendance.
Financial Management:
Purchasing: When applicable, purchases food and household supplies; purchases office supplies and minor equipment; reviews and attests company credit card statements and monthly invoices; directs employees as necessary; monitors and attests to cost effective, accurate and applicable spending.
Individuals' Served Funds Management: Secures and safeguards individuals' served funds locally; uses forms for money/debit card transfers; updates financial ledgers weekly and maintains itemized receipts for purchases on behalf of individuals served
Billing and Utilization: Reviews census, attendance information or other required documentation to assure accurate billing; monitors utilization between authorization and provision of services and supports.
Staffing: Monitors staffing hours for budgetary compliance.
Census Management:
Census Capture: Captures daily census within systems; understands importance of accurate and timely service capture along with required documentation.
Census Performance: Develops basic understanding of census, including how census is measured and census performance for locations; Escalates potential service disruptions
Placements: Supports location preparations required for expected placements (e.g., room & furniture set-up, safety requirements, etc.).
Maintenance:
Vehicles: When applicable, test drives vehicle monthly; inspects vehicle lifts and seatbelts monthly; reports safety concerns immediately to supervisor or maintenance personnel; assures vehicle is washed and cleaned; trains staff in safe vehicle operation and safely transporting individuals; ensures routine maintenance is performed.
Living Environment: When applicable, schedules and monitors daily and seasonal housekeeping; oversees lawn and yard care. Maintains neat, clean and safe environment for individuals served.
Maintenance and Repair: When applicable, makes or arranges for minor repairs; reports to and schedules repairs by maintenance personnel as required; monitors environmental safety; monitors water temperature, refrigerator and freezer temperature, and safety alarms and extinguishers on a monthly basis; replaces furnace filters monthly.
Equipment: Monitors wheelchairs, lifts and other safety equipment; sees that repairs are made promptly and correctly in the event of faulty equipment.
Other:
Performs other duties and activities as required, including backfilling roles under your supervision.
MPA = Mobile Punch Authorized for timekeeping.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the Direct Support Professionals.

Manage the day-to-day operations of one to four programs in a community including organization and implementation of direct supports, person-centered planning, and implementation, health care, advocacy, stakeholder relations, regulatory compliance, recruiting, retention, staffing, training, safety, financial management, and maintenance of the physical environment.
Manage program staff members including performance evaluations, scheduling, and orientation.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two to three years of related experience in the Human Services Industry preferred.

SUMMARY
Position Type: Full-time, non-exempt, hourly supervisor role.
Scope of Role:
Supervises a single program or unit within a program, typically supporting 4-8 individuals in residential settings or 10-15 individuals in periodic, vocational or day programs. Duties are split between the provision of direct support, professional or program activities and supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Direct Support Professionals
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the program including delivery of supports, implementation of person-centered plans, health care, advocacy, customer engagement, regulatory compliance and when applicable, oversight of the physical environment.
Generally works 8 to 16 flexible hours per week in a supervisory capacity; and provides direct support for the remaining hours.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.
Services and Supports:
Direct Support: Works regularly scheduled shifts as a direct support professional (see DSP position description).
Records: Documents as required; reviews individual records, billing and other program documentation routinely for accuracy and completion on a daily basis; maintains
Program Planning: Assists the Program Director in development of individual program plans; trains and monitors implementation of plans each day across all shifts.
Team Meetings: Attends and assists with routine progress meetings.
Compliance: Assists the Program Director in maintaining licensing compliance for program services and supports; implements Sevita compliance plan; manages individual rights implementation.
Management of Individuals' Assets: When assigned, assures safety of individual's funds and property; monitors spending and reconciles individual's financial accounts monthly.
Incidents: Completes or assists DSPs in documenting incident reports; submits initial incident reports to the Program Director.
Billing and Utilization: Compiles or accumulates census or attendance information; reviews data and attests to accuracy; submits accurate data to the Program Director or appropriate billing authority.
Health Care:
General Health Care: Monitors health of persons being served; documents; communicates with medical professionals as appropriate; implements preventive strategies to limit illness and serious incidents; reviews and monitors documentation across all shifts.
Appointments: When applicable, schedules or assists in scheduling health care appointments; may accompany individuals to appointments; may assist with communication; documents visits; oversees follow through of orders; communicates results as appropriate with families, guardians, case managers, day programs or others.
Medications: When applicable, accurately administers or supports self-administration of medication and documents delivery of medications and treatments; reviews all other medication documentation for accuracy and completeness, daily or weekly as required; reviews medication errors with employees; communicates medication changes and provides training across all shifts; maintains appropriate security of medications and supplies.
Medical Supplies and Equipment: Purchases and maintains medical supplies and equipment in consultation with Program Director; communicates with employees and may assist with training on proper use.
Dietary planning: Develops menus based on diets, preferences, and occasions, and with the exception of some in-home services, purchases or oversees purchasing of food and supplies in accordance with planned menus and individual choice or need; directs and monitors food service, consistent with individual plans.
Stakeholder Relations:
Communications: Maintains productive and professional relations with individuals, families, case managers and other stakeholders.
Customer Service: Implements Sevita Customer Service Standards; trains DSPs in delivery.
Personnel:
Recruitment and Hiring: As needed, assists with recruitment; interviews and hires direct support professionals in consultation with the Area Director and Talent Acquisitions teams.
Employee Scheduling: Populates and maintains schedule to assure that all shifts are covered, and overtime is minimized.
Training: Assists with onboarding and delivers orientation and ongoing training concerning the individuals served, program plans, policies, procedures and physical environment; Verifies training records are accessible in the home and are completed by all staff on the schedule.
Evaluation: Prepares and conducts annual evaluations for Direct Support Professionals, in consultation with the Program Director.
Discipline and Termination: Coaches employees as needed, correcting or directing employee behavior where required; may remove employees in the event of emergency; may recommend and participate in decisions regarding termination; consults with the Program Director on all matters of discipline.
Employee Safety: Responsible for employee safety and workers' compensation within the program; implements and monitors compliance with safety standards.
Management: May assist with or lead monthly program meetings for direct support professionals; documents monthly meeting agenda and attendance.
Financial Management:
Purchasing: When applicable, purchases food and household supplies; purchases office supplies and minor equipment; reviews and attests company credit card statements and monthly invoices; directs employees as necessary; monitors and attests to cost effective, accurate and applicable spending.
Individuals' Served Funds Management: Secures and safeguards individuals' served funds locally; uses forms for money/debit card transfers; updates financial ledgers weekly and maintains itemized receipts for purchases on behalf of individuals served
Billing and Utilization: Reviews census, attendance information or other required documentation to assure accurate billing; monitors utilization between authorization and provision of services and supports.
Staffing: Monitors staffing hours for budgetary compliance.
Census Management:
Census Capture: Captures daily census within systems; understands importance of accurate and timely service capture along with required documentation.
Census Performance: Develops basic understanding of census, including how census is measured and census performance for locations; Escalates potential service disruptions
Placements: Supports location preparations required for expected placements (e.g., room & furniture set-up, safety requirements, etc.).
Maintenance:
Vehicles: When applicable, test drives vehicle monthly; inspects vehicle lifts and seatbelts monthly; reports safety concerns immediately to supervisor or maintenance personnel; assures vehicle is washed and cleaned; trains staff in safe vehicle operation and safely transporting individuals; ensures routine maintenance is performed.
Living Environment: When applicable, schedules and monitors daily and seasonal housekeeping; oversees lawn and yard care. Maintains neat, clean and safe environment for individuals served.
Maintenance and Repair: When applicable, makes or arranges for minor repairs; reports to and schedules repairs by maintenance personnel as required; monitors environmental safety; monitors water temperature, refrigerator and freezer temperature, and safety alarms and extinguishers on a monthly basis; replaces furnace filters monthly.
Equipment: Monitors wheelchairs, lifts and other safety equipment; sees that repairs are made promptly and correctly in the event of faulty equipment.
Other:
Performs other duties and activities as required, including backfilling roles under your supervision.
MPA = Mobile Punch Authorized for timekeeping.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the Direct Support Professionals.
Manages assigned personnel. Completes performance evaluations, orientation, and training. Makes decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.
