The Group also purchases 39% of CDLHT (diluted in 2010 to 35%). In the same year, the Group makes its first move into China, opening the Grand Millennium Shanghai Hongqiao under management contract.
2010 The group successfully launches its new brand, Studio M, in Singapore.
2011 The Group completes two significant asset management transactions - selling and leasing back Studio M to CDLHT and selling a parcel of land adjacent to the Grand Millennium Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
The record holder for the all time most expensive hotel to be sold is the Waldorf Astoria New York in Manhattan. It was sold to the Chinese Anbang Insurance Group for 1,95 billion US dollars in 2014.
After 13 years, in February 2017, the two existing shareholders formalised previous plans for an equity transfer between them and the majority shares are now held by the existing Bahraini-shareholder while the shareholder from Thailand now owns a minority.
