Laurie Stradley serves as the executive co-lead for Healthier Generation’s single strategy to convene and equip health, school, and community champions with an array of tools and resources that prepare them to equitably transform environments surrounding young people and their families. Laurie is a seasoned senior leader in public health and early intervention health care, serving on numerous local, state, and national coalitions driving the future of health.

Prior to Healthier Generation, Laurie was the director of wellness at Mission Health System in Asheville, NC, where she worked to improve employee health and well-being as well as population health strategies for the regional health care system. In 2010, Laurie became a founding staff member at the North Carolina Center for Health and Wellness at UNC Asheville, serving as the director of state and community collaboration. Here, she became more involved in interconnected child health areas, including equity in food access and early care and education. At the core of her work in this field is a deep commitment to supporting schools and communities in improving children’s health, keeping equity and justice at the center of her focus.

Laurie holds a Bachelor of Arts in kinesiology from the College of William & Mary as well as a Master of Arts in exercise physiology and a Doctorate of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Nhu Khazal leads Healthier Generation’s Talent Development Team, where she provides overall leadership for all human resources functions. She serves as an advisor and counsel to senior leadership while supporting employees on a wide range of personnel matters. Nhu leads all efforts to define, communicate, and reinforce organizational norms and workplace culture.

Prior to joining Healthier Generation, Nhu served as Head of Human Resources & Administration for Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), where she established the HR infrastructure for the newly formed national non-profit; led the creation of several HR strategic initiatives, including transforming the recruiting function to attract top talent; redesigned the benefits and compensation programs making them more inclusive and competitive with market; developed the first Employee Handbook; and introduced an online performance management system, which allowed for more objective and fair performance rating standards across the organization.

Nhu has held a variety of leadership roles in revenue generation, operations, and facility management in the financial industry, having managed 24 regional bank branches with 200+ employees and a deposit base of $609 million.
