    The RISE Center is a centralized hub of collaborative services designed to connect Franklin County residents to valuable resources-empowering them to identify, pursue, and achieve their goals. As the nonprofit arm of Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA), we strive to raise the standard of quality for supportive services available to residents living in affordable housing. CMHA is a public housing authority serving Franklin County, Ohio and is known nationally as one of the most innovative affordable housing developers in the country. CMHA's mission is to help people access affordable housing through collaborative partnerships to develop, renovate, and maintain housing; promote neighborhood revitalization; and assist residents in accessing needed social services. In addition to administering Section 8 subsidized housing programs, CMHA also owns and operates over 40 housing communities in Central Ohio. In total, CMHA serves over 13,000 households and 33,000 individual residents in Franklin County. Though The RISE Center serves all Franklin County residents, our specific focus is on households that receive a rental subsidy from CMHA. Through partnerships with various community-based organizations, The RISE Center coordinates a broad range of programs designed to support Franklin County residents' housing stability, educational attainment, health and wellbeing, employment outlook, and personal development. VISTA Leaders serving with The RISE Center will assist with the coordination of The RISE Center VISTA project, which places 14 members at organizations we partner with throughout Central Ohio. All projects share the common goal of increasing The RISE Center's ability to serve more residents and provide expanded services. Member Duties : The VISTA Leader's assigned duties will include: assisting with outreach, recruitment, and onboarding of project placement sites, assisting with outreach, recruitment, and onboarding of members, regularly engaging with VISTA members serving with The RISE Center VISTA project, connecting VISTA members to trainings and resources, assisting the VISTA program manager with project reporting and annual site visits to project placement sites, and creating policies, procedures, and systems to support overall project success. We are looking for a VISTA Leader with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Prior experience working with at-risk populations is preferred. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation. Ability to supervise and work with groups of campers ages 7-17, as well as parents and staff of diverse populations. Ability to adequately observe participants' activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures. Physical ability to lead, teach and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills including: standing, hiking and/or climbing for long periods of time. CPR and First Aid certification required prior to working with participants and must be from one of the following certifying organization: American Red Cross American Heart Association American Safety & Health Institute.
