Cons of working at APCO Employees Credit Union

I’ve been employed with the company for a few years and I will say that there is ABSOLUTELY NO room for growth at all!! You will be micro managed! And the raises are not even a full dollar amount it’s between $0.30 and $0.60 cents. Over the years I have been employed with APCO I have seen newly hired employees come in with great spirits/attitudes and in 2 months to 3 months they have bad attitudes toward the other employees because APCO has drained them and they no longer enjoy what they do! It’s hard to get other departments on the phone and because of that you will be forced to do their jobs along with yours and they have the nerve to a more job duties!! You will be looked at as just another number that is employed with the company. I have started with a team of people and they all have left for better careers opportunities where the company cares about their employees and offers different opportunities for growth and development. This company will interview external people rather than giving internal employees the opportunity and when they do, they say that they will need to fill other positions in the company before they move you up (unless you are a male) in the company like it’s your fault that they can’t keep employees. You also have people that are employed with the company that are on salary/hourly making $22+ -$35+ with no degree and people with degrees not making anywhere near that. For what we do working as a Member Service Representative (Call Center) we do not get paid what we are worth and for what we deal with! We are the backbone of they company and we are not valued as such. Other companies are quick to pay you way more than $17.00 an hour because they know your worth and value what you bring to the table. The grass is not always greener on the other side so if you think this company is a good fit, think about it again!
