What excites me most is a big challenge-a business turnaround, steep growth objective, or 100-mile ultra-marathon in harsh conditions. I’ve learned that people (myself included) are capable of much more than they first think possible. When faced with a challenge I’m inspired to take it on, tough it out, and turn in a victory. My teams and I never give up.

In leadership roles with industrial technology and greentech companies worldwide, I’ve tackled big challenges and delivered results.

► At Verengo Solar, investors brought me in to stabilize and divest the company. I reconstituted the executive team and we restructured the business under extreme cash constraints and market conditions to profitability within 12 months. The company was sold under a Confirmed Bankruptcy Plan to Crius Energy.

► For GT Advanced Technologies, My team and I turned around and divested 2 businesses in 7 months; built the world’s largest sapphire facility from startup to shipping product in 6 months; and refocused a $300M Asian business to double-digit returns.

► As CEO of PowerGenix, I led the shift to a new market segment and achieved technology qualification with Tier 1 automakers in |5 years (light speed in that industry).

► At Invensys, My team and I combined 6 power conversion companies into an integrated global business. In 3 years we grew revenue 66%, and became top-3 in our industry worldwide.

Previously, I led global sales organizations and worldwide OEM programs for software and electronics firms and rose through the ranks with Scientific Atlanta. My education in Engineering (BSEE), Communication (MA), and business (Stanford Executive Institute) provides a broad base for the diverse issues I face as a business leader.

I’ve been tapped by VC, PE, and large industrial firms to help them design-and EXECUTE-growth strategies (particularly in Asia) for their portfolio companies and coach their CEOs.

I will continue to seek the big challenges getting my team and investors to the finish line.
