The Opportunity Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA) is the Los Angeles Philharmonic's initiative to establish youth orchestras in underserved communities throughout Los Angeles, with YOLA at Camino Nuevo marking YOLA's fourth youth orchestra endeavor. Other duties may be assigned. * Proficient assembly skills, high volume design to print creation, trapping, spot colors, varnish, foil, die cuts, deboss and/or embossing are a big part of our deadline-driven environment. * Full-time comprehension of production practices essential as direction is structurally provided via SOP's, design mechanicals, written instruction and department Leads. * Unconditional support and adherence of departmental procedures and requirements is mandatory. * The ideal candidate will possess print experience, Offset preferred, Digital acceptable. Familiarity with the 4/c process is beneficial, to include, but not limited to: spot colors, varnish, foil, die cuts. * Hands-on, energetic and motivated self-starter with the ability to work additional hours as required. * Accomplished communication skills requested demonstrate close attention to detail with organized practices. * Support and adhere to internal Creative Departmental procedures and requirements to include but not limited to, assisting in other areas during production heavy cycles. * Proficiency in the following software or systems: Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office. INTERACTION This position will interact closely with the Master Team Lead, Senior Production Artist, Project Managers, Photo and Type Editors, colleagues and other related staff. EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE * High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree with an emphasis in Graphic Arts a plus. * 3+ years of experience in Prepress or related areas, publishing or relevant duties. Thorough understanding file standards for print production (bleed, trapping, color separation, resolution, dot shapes, screen print angles, FM/Stochastic, plus exposure to a variety of paper and plastic substrates, etc.). * The qualified applicant must possess proficient computer skills; a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is required. Plus, intermediate proficiency in the following software: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Effective oral and written communication skills demonstrates close attention to detail with organized practices. Ability to articulate clearly with internal partners. * Effective organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with dedicated attention to detail. * Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend written instructions and follow pre-established guidelines. * Utilize technology and maximize efficiency: Maintain education and software capabilities. * Professional demeanor; team player orientation. * Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising reasonable discretion and independent judgment. * Manage time effectively, prioritizing duties and meeting deadlines. Ability to maintain flexible work hours. Work hours are mostly consistent, but production requirements require flexibility. * Knowledge of the following areas would be desirable: NHL, Football and Basketball, and/or historical knowledge of pop culture, including comics and film spanning a multitude of trends.
