Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

In this hands-on position, you'll contribute to the reliability and performance of our systems by performing essential checks, supporting re-manufacturing operations, and ensuring every piece of equipment meets our high standards for safety and quality. You'll also help drive continuous improvement by using TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) tools and sharing insights that enhance efficiency and service.
How You'll Make an Impact:
* Assemble mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components with precision, ensuring every build meets exact specifications and supports operational excellence
* Perform hydraulic and electrical checks to confirm equipment is functioning safely and reliably before it returns to service
* Lead re-manufacturing tasks-from disassembly and inspection to minor repairs and reassembly-restoring equipment to peak condition
* Follow process and specification sheets with accuracy and consistency, setting the standard for quality and compliance
* Complete labor reporting and recordkeeping with attention to detail, ensuring transparency and accountability
* Use TPM tools to drive improvements in safety, efficiency, and customer service while reducing operational costs
* Communicate proactively about maintenance needs, quality concerns, or anything that could impact safety or productivity-ensuring issues are addressed before they escalate
* Keep leadership informed on daily activities and operational challenges, contributing to a culture of openness and continuous improvement
* Support the development of others by assisting in training teammates and sharing knowledge
* Step in wherever needed to help the team meet its goals and deliver on shared commitments
Position Details:
* Plant Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
* Work Week & Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:00AM - 4:00PM
* Compensation: $19.50 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Previous manufacturing experience

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:
The pay rate for this role is $19.50 per hour. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.

Are you passionate about Assembly? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our assembly function. As an assembler, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. In this job you will assemble Mark V, TR-II, ScadaMate, or Vista Switches. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous production activity, must meet requirements within time constraints and you will be held accountable for the quality of your work. Tasks require a mechanical assembly aptitude, an above average degree of eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion. You will frequently use hand and power tools, working while standing on the floor and occasionally on a ladder or manlift.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembling Mark V circuit-switchers at one of several stations, ranging in size from 6' x 10' x 10' to 15' x 15' x 15'.
Assembling TR-II switches, ranging in size up to 5' x 1' x 1' to 11'x 1' x 1'.
Identifying, transporting, installing, mounting and bolting all switch components (ranging from 5 lbs. to over 100 lbs. with assistance). Some judgment is required to assemble and make simple adjustments.
Performing mechanical inspection using torque wrenches, screwdriver and tape measure, and electrical inspection using a test console.
Using simple material handling equipment, hand tools, power tools, simple gauges and instruments, and overhead cranes
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
What you'll Need To Succeed:
Proficient in reading blueprints
Testing knowledge of electrical switching e.g. relays, contactors and circuit breakers.
Demonstrate the skills to use air impact tools and other hand-held tools.
Ability to use shop math and measuring tools such as tape measures.
Ability to follow specific instructions and procedures.
Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical assembly operations preferred.
Manufacturing assembly experience.
Soldering experience preferred.
Physical demands:
Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile).
Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.
Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
Other: Respirator certification required.
