RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Receive direction from Supervisor and instructions relative to work assignment from Supervisor or lead person. Work from established job specifications, departmental card files, prescribed practices and procedures, written and verbal instructions.
* Operate specified laminating machine. Set E, I gauge bars and micro-switches to specified height and/or exchange complete drive units. Load left and right magazines with metal lamination, position coil, activate machine to automatically feed alternate laminations to maximum fullness. Complete laminating process by hand, using (2) 1/8" iron or greater and stacks 3" or greater.
* Use hoists, low lift hand truck and carts to position or move transformers to assigned locations, use pneumatic tools, ratchets, wrenches and applicable equipment and hand tools.
* Install various insulating materials, fasten, mount, tighten, square, gauge brackets and specified hardware to meet dimensional and functional requirements and conformance.
* Perform other related duties in accordance with production workload requirements as assigned.
* Detect faulty operations or equipment, discrepancies in material, specifications or other unusual conditions and report to proper Supervisor. Record applicable job information as assigned.
* Maintain work area in neat and orderly condition. Make out time and production reports.
* Observe all prescribed safety regulations.
* Train new hires and cross-train existing personnel as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Education: Ability to use specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, and basic arithmetic.
* Experience: 9-12 months of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Initiative & Ingenuity: Ability to independently perform assembly tasks, including transformer lamination and installation of brackets and insulating materials, with judgment to follow standard procedures.

● Position steel beams to support bedplates of machines and equipment using blueprints and schematic drawings.
● Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments to set specified clearances.
● Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
● Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly units using hand tools and power tools.
● Assemble machines, bolt, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundations or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
● Lay out mounting holes using measuring instruments and drill holes with power drills.
● Bolt parts such as side and deck plates, jaw plates, and journals to basic assembly units.
● Level bedplates and establish centerlines using straightedges, levels, and transit.
● Dismantle machines use hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
● Dismantle machinery and equipment for shipment to installation sites.
