What you'll do:
Eaton is seeking a Production Technician for its Panelboard / Switchboard Satellite Operation.
The Manufacturing Production Technician is responsible for a wide range of skills including: wire, assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment. Perform assembly required for test preparation and final inspection. Use established power checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical/mechanical integrity of units assembled. Perform all assignments within acceptable quantity and perfect quality requirements in keeping within assigned functions.
* Assemble panelboards and/or switchboards to customer specification based on electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions with the use of hand and power tools.
* Inspect and test finished products to maintain quality standards and ensure conformance with specifications and codes.
* Use various tools, such as wire strippers and plyers to perform the electrical wiring assembly of panelboards and/or switchboards.
* Maintain expected progress of jobs in the area of assignment and communicate problem areas or part shortages.
* Receive and put away material; prepare finished products for shipment.
* Perform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health. Maintain equipment, tools, and work area per established 5S guidelines.
* Cross-train and flex across functions based on development and business needs.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum one year of experience in an assembly related role with the use of hand and/or power tools (experience in automotive repairs, construction, carpentry, or other assembly type environments will be considered).
* No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

The Assembler will be responsible for fabricating metallic and nonmetallic parts to be assembled into complete units. This role will apply knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, layout techniques, operating conventional and special purpose machines and hand tools.

* Verify packaging is free of loose components, debris, setup parts, or test parts.
* Visually check the station to make sure all tooling is correct and clinch finger is tight in place.
* Check components to prints to make sure the correct parts are in the tray.
* Verify the components with the travel cards and the work order cards as a double check.
* Turn on the machine.
* Look over machine to make sure all guards are in place and light curtains in good working condition.
* Place band and housing on the mandrel and press with your foot on the foot pedal.
* Perform the quality checks as required by the control plan and fill out all the documentation.
* Gages used must be handled and stored properly and returned to inspection station after use. If a gage is found to be damaged or non-functional, discontinue use and return to gage lab.
* Making sure to take the correct steps to ensure product shipment

Job Summary:
The Hand Assembly will assemble the housing and screw to the band.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs manual assembly tasks, such as sorting, counting, labeling, and packaging components or products.
Verify packaging is free of loose components, debris, setup parts, or test parts.
Visually check the station to make sure all tooling is correct and clinch finger is tight in place.
Check components to prints to make sure the correct parts are in the tray.
Verify the components with the travel cards and the work order cards as a double check.
Turn on the machine.
Look over machine to make sure all guards are in place and light curtains in good working condition.
Place band and housing on the mandrel and press with your foot on the foot pedal.
Perform the quality checks as required by the control plan and fill out all the documentation.
Gages used must be handled and stored properly and returned to inspection station after use. If a gage is found to be damaged or non-functional, discontinue use and return to gage lab.
Making sure to take the correct steps to ensure product shipment
Follows detailed instructions and diagrams to assemble items accurately.
Identifies and reports any defects or discrepancies in the assembly process.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of the assembly area.
Ensures compliance with safety procedures and guidelines.
Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds to those specifications.
Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
Maintains equipment and conveyors and performs basic repairs when needed.
Collaborates with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as necessary to complete logs or records.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
Detail-oriented and consistent.
Works well as a productive member of a team.
Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment.
Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
One year of related machine operation experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time.
