Assembles, prepares and solders pipe to dimensions, as specified by layouts, work orders, or blueprints. Welds and assembles parts in accordance to drawings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Solders metal pipes or parts together, using soldering equipment.
Reviews layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders in preparation for solders metal components.
Cuts, prepares and welds metal skid parts according to the drawing.
Selects and installs torch, torch tip and flux, according to soldering specifications or type and thickness of metal.
Connects and turns regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure to obtain desired flame.
Ignites torch.
Cleans and prepares parts or components in accordance to specifications prior to assembly.
Heats workpiece to required temperature, using hand torch.
Positions workpieces and clamps together or assembles in jigs or fixtures.
Inspects finished workpiece for conformance to specifications.
Cleans parts using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath post brazing.
Hydrostatically tests system to required pressure and inspects for leaks.
Repairs any leaks that are found during the hydro test process.
Spray paints piping to customer required color.
Breaks down fully completed skid system and prepares it for shipping using crates and other packing materials.
Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Performs all other functions as required.

Working Conditions

Assess the level of rework and assist in determining the cause of component, subassembly, or system failures.
Take appropriate action to rework components and ensure proper operation of equipment.
Make recommendations to engineering department regarding modification of assembly processes.
Support company initiatives including ISO 9000 and Statistical Process Control (SPC) ensuring continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and products.
Assist in guiding, directing, and training employees in various assembly operations as needed or directed.
Remain flexible and willing to work in various work cells depending on company need.
Report unusual circumstances or conditions to supervisor as required.

Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces. Notifies Supervisor of any equipment malfunctions or quality problems.
Inspects ground tubes to meet work instruction requirements.
Performs a combination of production tasks, which may include loading machinery, positioning work, setting up jobs, adjusting and operating machinery.
May load and unload materials, parts or products; stock to designated work areas; pack products and may clean surface of machines and work areas.
Operates machinery and equipment. Inspects ground tubes to meet work instruction requirements.
Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Able to access databases as necessary to retrieve work instructions in order to perform work.

Summary:
The Assembler will assemble manufactured products and pack according to specifications.
Essential Functions:
Accountable for daily assembly in Production
Tasks:
Assembles metal products according to directions.
Reads blueprints or similar documentation then builds to those specifications.
Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
