We encourage applications for appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor and will consider exceptional candidates for appointment at the rank of Associate or (Full) Professor. These appointments will be part of the MSU 1855 Professorship program, an Office of the Provost initiative to enhance the academic experience and student success by elevating the academic quality and reputation at MSU.
Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in an engineering field or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment, with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2025. Appointments will be made in the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Entomology, Plant Sciences, or Biochemistry and Molecular Biology based on existing strengths and capabilities and the candidate's preferences. Joint appointments with other departments are possible. This will be a full-time, academic-year appointment in the tenure system, with tenure, if appropriate, at a salary commensurate with the candidate's background and experience. Those who conduct research that enhances or is aligned with aspects of inclusion and equity are of high interest.
The candidate is expected to establish a sustainable, externally-funded, and internationally visible research program; make significant scholarly contributions to their discipline; conduct community-engaged research; be an effective teacher and mentor of undergraduate and graduate students; engage in institutional and professional service; and contribute toward the university's mission in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates are encouraged to describe the potential impacts of their scholarship and how their work might complement existing strengths at the College and university level, particularly as it relates to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position promotes interdisciplinary collaboration across the Colleges of Engineering (Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical and Computer Engineering), Agriculture and Natural Resources (Entomology), and Natural Science (Plant Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), with eligibility for membership in the Plant Resilience Institute (PRI). Candidates with an engineering background focused on sustainable management of plant, arthropod, and microbial communities in agricultural systems are encouraged to apply. The appointment will be with Engineering and either Agriculture and Natural Resources or Natural Science determined collaboratively with participating units. Applicants should describe how their research complements existing departmental strengths.
The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing initiatives in the Agricultural Climate Resilience Program and the PRI. Responsibilities include developing sustainable solutions for efficient resource use, creating biodegradable materials, and designing advanced systems for real-time monitoring of plant health and environmental conditions.

Position Summary
The Human Biology (HBIO) Program in the College of Natural Science at Michigan State University invites applications for one full-time, 9-month fixed-term faculty position. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2025, and reappointment is expected based on satisfactory performance and continued funding. HBIO is a large undergraduate academic program serving a wide variety of students interested in health and biomedical science careers. The successful candidate will become part of a teaching team that is developing and implementing a new, innovative, core curriculum focused on biology, health, and community, with a specific goal of preparing HBIO students to address challenges in health, medicine, and the biomedical sciences. We welcome applications from candidates with a variety of experiences and disciplinary backgrounds including cell biology, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, developmental biology, discipline-based education research, and related fields. Appointment will be at the assistant professor level.
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to collaboratively teach HBIO 410: Cellular Basis of Disease, a course in which students explore human cell biology concepts through the study of human disease. The course structure encourages students to practice scientific reasoning skills including building and interpreting models, learning the methods used to study cell biology, analyzing scientific literature, and communicating complex scientific information to a wide variety of audiences. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to at least one other course in our curriculum; HBIO 295: Human Biology and Society, an introductory course that focuses on societal impacts on disease and health information literacy or HBIO 495: Capstone in Human Biology, an upper-level course that focuses on science writing and communication.

The Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and Cultures seeks applicants for several full-time, fixed-term, non-tenure track assistant professors or instructors to join our dynamic, collaborative community of writing teachers. Position Summary
The College of Law is seeking to hire a director for the Entrepreneurship Clinic. This position will be full-time, 12-month, fixed-term Assistant/Associate/full Professor and will manage the Clinics operations and funding, perform and supervise casework and outreach, and teach the Clinic seminar.
Duties of the positions will include recruiting students and reviewing their applications, designing, teaching, and supervising students enrolled in the clinics, as well as promoting the clinics. This position also actively engages in service at the college and university, as well as in national organizations.
The Director of the Entrepreneurship Clinic leverages MSU's exceptional strengths in intellectual property, technology transfer, and innovation to serve Michigan's entrepreneurial economy. This clinic would provide transactional legal services to entrepreneurs, startups, and innovation-driven enterprises, while training students in the rapidly evolving field of business law. The Entrepreneurship Clinic is MSU Law's only law clinic training students in transactional legal practice. Students gain practice experience under an expert faculty member in Intellectual Property Law (Patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret protection for innovative ventures), Technology Transfer (facilitating the commercialization of university research and technology), Business Formation and Governance (entity selection, formation, and corporate governance structures), Contract Drafting and Negotiation (service agreements, licensing deals, and strategic partnerships), and Regulatory Compliance (navigating complex regulatory frameworks for technology companies).

The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Michigan State University was founded in 2016 and is poised for significant and sustained growth and expansion. BME consists of 19 core faculty and 22 adjunct faculty with a wide range of interdisciplinary interests, including bioinformatics, stem cell engineering, nano-robotics, neural engineering, and molecular imaging. BME faculty are funded through numerous external awards from a variety of sources, including multiple NIH R01 awards and three NSF CAREER awards. Approximately 40 PhD students are currently enrolled in the BME graduate program, and our faculty actively engage undergraduate students from various degree programs in their research, teaching, and outreach activities. The development of an undergraduate BME degree program is one of many potential future growth areas for the department.
The BME department is located in the Bioengineering Building, a 130,000-square-foot facility outfitted with state-of-the-art research tools and infrastructure. Our department is closely aligned with MSU's Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering (https://iq.msu.edu/).
